Well, at least you now have a defensive minded coach. As several teams have shown in the past, you can be amazing if you have a stellar D and moderate Special Teams even with a terrible offense.

John Fox is probably top 5-7 coaches in the game he should turn that team around. They have 3 young QB's they (Denver) has to figure out who they want taking snaps under center. If i was Fox i would try to go back to fundamentals and work on endurance that field is one of the only true home field advantages left in the game.
On a side note do yall think the Raiders will be decent again this year i know they need McFadden to show his raw talent any day now and stick with there QB they got instead of drafting another one.

Yup, I'm happy about it. We already have a good offense, and I'm hoping Tebow keeps bringing the whateverthefuck he brings on top of having a solid defense that gives him the balls. Defense wins championships, always has.

@skarsguard -- I dunno about McFadden. He seems frail. Other than that, you are definitely a strong team. Good defense for sure, and you can build the team around that.

Everyone else might as well just lay down. Packer's are going to win the Superbowl next year if we have a season and we don't have a lockout.

The only reason that Steeler's Superbowl was REMOTELY close was because our entire secondary got injured before the half.

The game would have been a shut out had that not happened.

Next season we will have Finley out there NOT dropping balls

We will also have Grant and Starks running a great ground game.

Yeah....nope. Believe me, I was rooting for the packers in that game; it was never going to be anything close to a blowout. If you know anything about the NFL, it's that you have absolutely no idea who's going to be in the superbowl, I think statements like what you just made are utterly ridiculous.

Umm, yeah, no. It is insane enough to win a division twice in a row, let alone the Super Bowl, least of all with a gigantic target on your back. THe Packers will have one of those targets, and although the NFC is weak enough for you to possibly repeat as the reps for the NFC, all of the AFC teams should be fixing some weak points. Steelers and Ravens will be right back in the fray after draft day, and fxing up some of those weak points.

    No.

While your secondary did get injured, that's not the reason why we lost. I can point out Ben's lack of production, the Steelers' defense playing brutal or the fact that we don't have any CB's.

OT: It makes me sad that Pittsburgh just signed Arians to a 1 year contract extension. There was a light in the darkness of the offseason for the Steelers so far, tagging Woodley was awesome. Dudes a monster.

Winds have been blowing around that Sanders is coming to Pittsburgh and putting Clarke as CB which he's proved he can do. If Pittsburgh and Baltimore both draft well this year, it's going to be a Pitt - Bal AFC Championship game. Sanders and Troy on the same team? That's almost as good as having Reed.

Bad - Denver is starting to shape up. I like where they're going as a team and may be a contender this year.

Thanks for keeping this thread relevant while I've been busy guys - I'll be back!

If Bob didn't last with how he played in Indy, no way in hell he would last in the AFCN, plus having two hard hitters at safety isn't always productive, he would be a better fit in B-more. Although there is no way in hell we get him in my opinion, he is an awesome player, but a glass cannon. First big shots he puts on guys like Rice or Mendy, he is going down, those two take lickings and keep on tickin. If we get a safety at all this offseason, I want it to be in the draft, and preferably Rahim Moore from UCLA or Ahmad Black from Florida.

LOL? Pittsburgh had 3 turnovers turn into 21 points for the Packers, shot themselves in the foot repeatedly, played uninspired on defense for at least half the game, and the offense looked like the keystone cops...

And they were one play away from winning the game. Wrap your mind around that.

The Packers will be improved. I don't doubt that for a second. But they weren't this year, nor will they be a juggernaut next year. They got hot at the exact right moment this past season. The NFL is a tricky business, and the Packers aren't surprising anyone next year. Plus, the NFC hasn't had a truly dominant team in a decade.

The Packers had a great year. I tip my hat to them. And Packer fans have every reason to be happy. But it's TOUGH to repeat for a reason. I get the whole fan bravado thing, but you're going a bit overboard.

With how the Combine is looking - if I were the Bills, I would be very tempted to go for Von Miller. If the Panthers take Cam Newton after that 11/21 performance I will die laughing however.

I also doubt that PounceyMKII falls to the Steelers (thank god!)

I still have hope for Cam, he's definitely going first round. I think the Panthers have bigger issues than a QB right now.

As much as I'd want Pouncey Jr., our greatest needs lie in the secondary specifically a CB. There's no way Pouncey is going second round, teams like the Eagles need a OLmen.

Cam is giving me JaMarcus chills, only instead of just one game being really good - it is a year. It is kinda the same thing with Fairley, I think he may be like Fat Albert and get a huge contract and then be worth nothing until his next contract season.
We might nab a DB in the first round, I would prefer to snag a speedy DE or OLB in the first and get a good WR in the Second or Third round.
I wouldn't mid grabbing Casey Matthews to train under Ray Ray in the second though, I would call it well spent, he doesn't have Clay's freakish athleticism, but he has some killer instincts, I watched him play some games for Oregon, I want him, if we put him under Ray Ray's tutelage, we would have another upscale MLB, he couldn't fully replace Ray, but I doubt anyone can, the dude is an awesome leader.
Oh, another guy who I wouldn't mind at all would be Rahim Moore - he even said in an interview that "Playing with Ed Reed would be like a dream come true." I liked him at UCLA as well - he could instantly replace Dawan Landry - that fail SS who gets trucked by some lightweight receivers.

    This!

I dont think any team should go for Cam first round. Its would be like Denver and picking up Tebow so early (no offense Bad).
The panthers should NOT pick up Cam! They only had Clausen for a year, give the kid some time. Fairly or Peterson should be first off the boared, Peterson showed up at the combine!

Well, there wasn't an agreement and as of right now - there's no NFL for the 2011 / 2012 season. And that, makes me sad.

From my understanding, it's greed on part of the owners and I believe it. It's ridiculous that an agreement couldn't be reached, and I'm going to punch infants if it's because of the fucking 18 game schedule. Player saftey my ass.

I made my stance pretty clear, what do you guys think? Do you think it's the fault of the union for rejecting the offer, or the owners for putting one out that they knew wouldn't fit the unions demands.

They'd better reach an agreement by July, because there's no way I'm watching CFL. I'd rather spoon my eyeballs out.

I guess there's always NCAA. Go Gators.

I hate this mess. Hate it. Why care about a draft if there may not be a season anyways?

Honestly, I'd take just about anyone over Fairly. Someone who had the thought cross their mind that lowering their head and hitting a quarterback in the spine with their helmet is a good idea has no place in the NFL. Even if it is one of the best defensive players in the draft. Especially with how much the league has emphasized player safety this past year.

The owners are greedy bastards, and I don't need an 18 game season, not with the injuries sustained in the 16 game season we have now...

They'll reach an agreement to have a season though, there is too much money in it. If not, NCAA is good to watch as well, go WSU and UofI!

From what I have heard, the final agreement draft that the owners had didn't have the 18 games in it. However, it doesn't sound like they've given in to any of the other demands, and that seems to be the biggest cause of no agreement coming out of the mediation sessions.

Anyway, I'm really hoping for a 2011/2012 season, or I have no idea what I'll be doing during the fall...it'll be weird to not watch the games.

I found an interesting post on NFL.com regarding draft needs for AFC North, and I'm not sure I agree with their choices for Baltimore and Pittsburgh. I think they're spot on for Cinci and Browns though.

I can see Baltimore needing a CB in the case that Reed is injured again for an extended period of time, but in all honesty, what are the chances of that? I think they have bigger needs than a CB right now. I'm thinking someone to replace Oher.

Now, my Steelers' secondary is.. inconsistent. We're going to be taking a CB in the first round - no question. A lot of people have commented on the health of the Steelers OL, but keep in mind, a lot of our key starters were out and had to play 2nd, 3rd and in one case, a 4th rounder on our OL. Yeah, Ben needs protection, but I think with picks in later rounds (2-4) we can pick up some guys.

I also see they're suggesting a Safety and a RB. We're good on safety - Ryan Clark is doing his job and we have Troy. I don't think I need to explain Troy.

RB? I don't think so. Mendenhall was doing a great job, and we have Redman as our HB who's also proven himself on 3rd and short. I don't see where they're getting this information from.

For you non-AFC North teams, there's a few divisions near the top of the page - what do you think on their suggestions for picks in your teams case?

We (Baltimore) need either a RT or LT, preferrably a LT, Oher was fine at RT. Honestly, if we bring back Josh Wilson and Webb pulls off a good season, then I would by far prefer a SS to replace Landry, screw Landry, I want Rahim Moore from UCLA or Ahmad Black from Florida. A good speed/possession WR would be much appreciated if we can pick him up in the second round.
Another position I would kill for would be a pass rusher to place opposite of Suggs to get after Big Ben and the other QB's more often. If we have a couple of amazing rushers then Brady and Manning will be much easier to deal with.
If we could somehow pickup Casey Matthews from Oregon in the Third round, or trade up a bit to get him with some picks, then I would die of happiness, that kid isn't as freakishly talented as his brother, but he has the mentality to replace Ray-Ray in the future in my eyes.

Heh, most of this is what I said in my earlier posts.
