Titans already signed him. I think that's why, too. I woulda thought that McNabb would have been the better mentor of the two, but hey, maybe he wasn't available.

Plaxico also had a meeting with Tomlin today, which I guess could be a good thing. Give him a year and he'll be back in shape. If he does screw up, the Steelers will cut him. Look at Holmes.

No word on Tiki Barber going anywhere. I'm keeping a keen eye on that though.

So then it's official that Tiki is coming back? I wasn't sure he was even serious about it.

Burress is looking towards BOTH old gigs, The Steelers are looking into him as well. Good God! The Ravens and Steelers are practically stacking the WR positions up, the Ravens have unproven guys minus Bolden right now, but still, with all of the receivers we have, we just may have a good passing attack that doesn't rely on Ray Rice this season.

Chainsaw Dan stole Josh Wilson from us, why the hell we didn't get after him immediately after the release of the vets, I have no idea. Now I hope we get Carr or some other proven veteran CB, else we only have Foxworth with many starts back there, and I believe I have made my case on how much I dislike that option.

The Jets aren't acting like this is an uncapped year, and they are much more experience at FA than you are. Making statements like that is ignorant. Of course they're going to work around the cap...that's their job.

I'd love to know who you think they're gonna cut to make room for a washed up WR and a DB, who Oakland and other teams wouldn't pay big bucks for. I'm guessing there's a reason why teams that are 40+ million under the cap aren't going for guys like these.

Aaaand yep, Tiki is trying to make a serious comeback but a lot of teams aren't interested. There's this guy Ed Bouchette, an apparent "Steelers insider" (he's wrong an awful lot to be an 'insider') saying that the Steelers have no interest in him when there's players saying Tomlin has suggested and hinted toward it. I'll believe it from the players, not an 'insider'.

I wouldn't mind passing on Plaxico, we have our WR corp, he'd be a 3rd target behind Wallace and Ward, and he's not nearly as fast as Sanders and Brown are. The Rooney's aren't the kind of people to let guys that bring negative media attention to a team (Ben's the anamoly because he's a franchise QB).

@Robby - I know, it's really exciting. Their 1st and 2nd targets now for both teams are both younger, faster guys that are going to make those two (probably three. AFC Championship game anybody? ) times they play eachother even more exciting. Can't wait 'til week 1.

*Cough* James Harrison *COUGH* Don't get me wrong, I don't think he is getting illegal hits, but he needs to keep his trap shut for a while to get lower on the target list for referees.

I am STOKED for week 1, I hope that if we somehow do start a lead, Cam Cameron keeps going with aggressive playcalling, not go "o.k, lets let them catch back up again and exhaust our defense" playcalling. Good GOD I hate that guy SO MUCH!!!! Also, I think we'll bring Mason back, with all of the receivers we have going into TC, I won't be surprised if Torrey Smith may only be our #4 receiver if we resign Mason.

I know. He wonders why he's getting flagged on legal hits when he calls the commish a 'devil' and 'wouldn't piss on him if he was on fire'. I mean, really James? You're the best LB in the NFL right now. Let your play do the talking for you.

I just hope it's another close game that comes down to the wire. With our offense and defense getting younger, it's gonna be a much faster game with harder hits. They're already talking trash on twitter to eachother, can't wait 'til it's gametime to hear what they say. Poor Ben, Suggs is gonna have another field day.

Couple bits of interesting news here.

Redskins trade Albert Haynesworth to New England
    -
The Washington Redskins have traded disgruntled defensive tackle Albert Haynesworth to the New England Patriots for a 2013 fifth-round pick, sources confirmed to NFL Network’s Albert Breer on Thursday morning.

Steelers to cut veterans Max Starks and Randle El
    -
The Steelers released two veterans, offensive tackle Max Starks and wide receiver Antwaan Randle El, the team announced Thursday morning.

The Pats are going for Haynesworth? I'm not gonna question Belicheck, he seems to know what he's doing. This one is interesting though. As for Starks and Randle El, that's no surprise. Randle El is getting old in a young receiver corp and Starks wasn't cutting it. He's too much of a 'nice guy' and would never mix it up, even against teams like the Jets and Ravens. Hell, even Pouncey got into it a few times.

I'm gonna make another post like I did for the FA signings, but for trades when I have time.

edit, added Reggie Bush going to Miami to the FA list.

Well, haven't the last several games only come down to like the final two minutes? Little wonder why you guys win, I would take Big Ben over any QB in the NFL if we were down by anything less than 8 points with two minutes to go. The guy works wonders in that time frame.

Randle El wasn't needed anymore, the only real vet you guys need in that receiver corps is Ward, the others can learn from the best blocking receiver in the NFL. Man, I love how Ward plays, that is how a real man plays WR. None of that Randy Moss crap where he just walks on running plays, without any contact on the DB at all. You guys HAVE to bolster that Oline somehow, otherwise Suggs, Ngata, Johnson, and maybe Kindle (He isn't on the PUP list entering camp, who knows?) will be all over BB the two, hopefully three games a year that you play us.

P.S, you still need to put Josh Wilson going to the Skins via FA. (damn you Chainsaw Dan! Damn you! I wanted him to come back!)

Not just Rodgers-Cromartie, a second round pick as well. That was a good deal for the Eagles, I don't see Kolb doing great, I see him as an average QB, which is still better than anything Arizona has right now.

I kept hearing that Philly was one of a few likely destinations for Nnamdi. I guess that just changed.

edit: Also looks like Jax just picked up Clint Session formerly from Indy. 5 year 29 mil 11.5 guaranteed.

also also rumor mill starting on Ochocinco to Pats

true, i do see him as average, but probably will have a better career in AZ then he would have in Philly

So do you think that settles the whole "Arizona blowing the season for Luck"? Because even if they get Luck, it's not like Kolb is experienced enough to teach him the ropes.

Updating the FA list as of right now, but what might be the biggest news of all so far..

    Chad "Ochocinco" Johnson
    - The Cincinnati Bengals dealt the loquacious wide receiver to the New England Patriots Thursday, a source with knowledge of the situation told NFL Network insider Jason La Canfora.

As previously reported, (thanks for doing it when i'm not here. busy day today)

    Kevin Kolb
    - The Philadelphia Eagles sent the quarterback to the Arizona Cardinals on Thursday in exchange for cornerback Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie and an second-round draft pick, NFL Network insider Michael Lombardi reported.

If any team blows the season for Luck, it'll be the Redskins, they NEED a QB. Otherwise, Carolina will be down there (again)

well i sure hope they don't pull another 5 win season and actually get to 8-8 this year even with a inexperienced QB

    Define "good".

Chad Retardostupido isn't worth it to me, if nothing else because of his attitude. Speaking of, wonder who will be stupid enough to grab Randy Moss.

I'm not sure Haynesworth is a total bust yet. I mean, he played like garbage last year but he also openly admitted he didn't like playing there. Plus, he's gonna be playing under Bill and he doesn't take a lot of shit so it's gonna be interesting.

I think Cam Newton is gonna play a lot better than people think he's gonna. I don't think he's gonna be a Leaf or a Palmer.

I also think the Pats just fortified their offense, now Tom has two deep threats. I don't know how it's gonna work with him in the change room though. I think he'll shut up because he knows Tom is the leader of that team, not him or T.O.

Rumor: Eagles offer T.O a 3 year deal. (UCF.)

Haynesworth isn't exactly a bust... He just sucks at Nose Tackle, a really good lineman can play at any position at the line, he just wanted more stats, because there is no glory in being the Nose Tackle, I would know, my best friend in High School played Nose Tackle, he was probably the best player on the freaking team, but never got any recognition at all, because the only stats he really ever got were a few tackles, being that he was constantly getting hit by the center and both of the opposition's guards. We'll see how he does in NE, he won't compare to Seymour, but Seymour is one of those ridiculously good lineman at any position really.

Cam Newton would be decent, not a Leaf or Russel, but he didn't get the time in the offseason to get used to the scheme, he is going to have a terrible adjustment period, and if they get last, they'll pick Luck, almost guaranteed.

NO WAY IN HELL do the Eagles offer T.O a deal, they had a terrible experience with him before, sure he did good for the Bengals, but I don't think the Eagles offer him a deal. I may be wrong, but I doubt it.

I wouldn't take either Moss or Chad Johnson, just because Moss is the epitome of the kind of receiver that I hate, sure he has insane talent, but he never, ever, ever blocks. Johnson just runs his mouth way too much, T.O was way better than him last season, I would take T.O over him in a heartbeat, especially as the Ravens or Steelers, they would kill the cancer in him.

Stephen Bowen jumped ship from Dallas to the Redskins, wonder what was up with that besides money, from an insanely talented defense with a good coordinator to the Redskins? I guess the money was too good to pass up. Chainsaw Dan is looking for improvement everywhere besides the quarterback position apparently.
