Apparently the Colts are too depressing to even show locally now
That's kind of sad......literally.

Man those first two quarters from Caleb Hanie really fucked us over. 3 Int? 1 in fucking redzone? Man I hope that's a one night stand because otherwise the Bears are on a losing streak... The defense really need to pull more than their own weight in the next weeks if Bears wanna make the playoff. Cutler, please HEAL FASTER! /Cast Divine Light
THank god they have a relative easy schedule... :/ Bear down... litteraly...
The Jags FINALLY fired Jack Del Rio. That move was only a couple years too late. Now just Norv Turner and Andy Ried to go for coaches that inexplicably hold onto their jobs despite no real success, especially in the case of Turner. How he hasn't been fired previous to this year is a miracle. If he survives this current complete implosion by the Chargers I will be 100% convinced he is sleeping with AJ Smith or has some sort of blackmail on him to continue to be employed.

I'm surprised it took them this long on Del Rio. Seemed like they were setting him up to fail when they cut Garrard, but in hind sight, I'm sure that had something to do w/ his salary and his injury (I can't see how they didn't know about that). How Norv Turner has survived this long is mind boggling. If he doesn't get fired after this season, you can basically just pencil him in as San Diego's head coach for the next 20 years. lol If this doesn't do it, nothing will.
While I definitely think Andy Ried is on the hot seat, I think he's in a little better position than Del Rio or Turner. If he just comes out at the end of the season, admits his mistakes and says that he's going to immediately find a new defensive coordinator, I think he has a chance to stick around. A slim chance ... but still better than Turner's. Yeah, all of Phillies fans are calling for his head, but in all fairness, they're Philly fans. lol Those people are angry about everything. As for a new DC, I hear Del Rio is available.![]()
I don't think I would say Andy Reid has been entirely unsuccessful. No he hasn't won a Super Bowl. But Philly has still been one of the best/most consistent teams over the last decade. The guy is a good coach. Arguably one of the top in the league. Good coaching is hard to find. And he's never really had a streak of bad teams to give Philly the chance to fire him. I'm still not convinced he's gone after this year. He's made mistakes this year(D-Coordinator, not putting any sort of O-line together). Philly fans are irrational. But the ownership isn't. Even if they refuse to pay Desean and have single-handedly damaged their best player.
Norv is another story. SD is one of the biggest letdowns every year. The only reason he still has a job is because AJ is one of the dumbest people on the planet. Fired a 14-2 coach and hired Norv. And has inexplicably stuck with him. San Diego needs to clean house and get rid of both.
Del Rio though is an odd guy. With a half decent QB, this team could be challenging for the division. Yet he cut his QB.

Ugh, Eagles look terrible. Another loss drops them to 4-8.
Garrard's agent thinks they knew about his back injury, but didn't tell him. Thinks they cut him to keep from having to pay him for 4 - 6 weeks that he wasn't going to play.

I can't wait to see if the Cowboys enter a waiver claim just to try and shaft the Bears like they tried on Orton. Seems rather pointless though this team as Dallas has a dominate grasp on their division right now (until their inevitable Romo collapse).
Last night's game was just yikes. I don't know how they can bring Reid back at this point. It is so clear that this team is incredibly divided. Young had a terrible game, but he doesn't play defense. The Eagles D was just awful. Lynch is beast mode, but the effort level from the Eagles defense last night was frankly disgusting. It seems pretty clear that Castillo has completely lost the D and the offense seems divided, or at least Jackson who is apparently a petulant child and refuses to communicate with his teammates on the sidelines. Frankly, I don't think the Eagles should bring Jackson back. I really don't. He clearly has enormous attitude issues on and off the field. I don't think he is really a real #1 WR outside of his speed. If the Colts to go into rebuild mode after this season, as they are potentially facing losing their best FAs to the market, I think the Eagles should absolutely be knocking on Reggie Wayne's door. He is exactly the type of #1 WR the Eagles need.

They weren't built around one player. The team was degrading year by year but the heroics of Manning and his receivers kept them competitive anyway, hiding their true weaknesses and serious need to rebuild.

Some team might try to pick up McNabb, but that is probably a mistake. He seems pretty lazy now, and resistant to actually trying to change or learn anything new. To think that he would pick up a new team's offense in the very little time that he has to do so does not seem likely.
I dunno. After reading this, I'm not so sure I'd fire Reid. Silver makes some good points.
And honestly I think Jackson is being scapegoated. Up until the last two or three weeks, he's kept his frustrations behind closed doors. It's the team and the media that seems to be hanging him out there and saying "Hey let's blame him." Yes, it looked bad last night. But the guy gets killed a bit more then he should be. I mean the team is basically giving him in the middle finger.
That Silver article was written before last night's epic effort meltdown. That guy knows way more about the NFl than I will ever though so if he thinks Reid is safe I wouldn't doubt it. The play where Jackson basically stood there rather than blocking for Shady on that swing pass was pretty much the shining example of what Jackson has become. He has a chance to block a d-back and free up Shady for another 10+ yards on the play and instead jogs towards him then stops and stands there while he tackles McCoy. McCoy about lost his mind yelling at him after he was tackled and rightfully so.
I find it kind of comical that McNabb cleared waivers. He couldn't help a single NFL team looking for playoff assurance? I'd be really surprised if someone didn't grab him off the free agent market as McNabb isn't that bad.

McNabb isn't bad until he gets injured after his second game. The guy's body simply can't handle it anymore.
From what I've read/heard McNabb's problem is he isn't willing to put in the work anymore. Whether or not that's true is another story. But it makes sense given how his last few years have gone. The fact a team like Houston would rather play a guy named TJ Yates over McNabb is telling. Even his hometown Bears prefer Caleb Haney. I wouldn't be surprised if this is it for him and we see him in a booth or studio sometime soon.
According to the San Diego Union-Tribune, the Chargers are actually going to FINALLY fire Norv Turner at the end of the season and AJ Smith is expected to follow him out the door.

You know, I'd almost say the should have kept Marty Friedman, but they'd probably be in the same situation. When they were 14-2 they had Brees, who is undeniably a better QB, Tomlinson in his prime (hall of rame RB hello), one of the nastiest defenses in the league and overall the most athletic team in the league.
Now that talent is older or traded off.
The Niners got their new stadium deal done to move to Santa Clara probably in 2015. Wonder if they will change the name from San Fransisco since SC is 45-50 miles away. California 49ers. Golden State 49ers. San Jose 49ers. Silicon Valley 49ers.
Speaking of Cali teams, how bout that McClain situation for the Raiders? His posse apparently got into a fight at a club in Alabama that resulted in McClain having his handgun pressed against a guys head. Instead of killing him he just discharged it next to his ear into the ground. This is a guy who has been pulled over with bullet holes in his car door before that were apparently from "someone shooting at him when he was driving."

lol @ San Jose 49'ers.
Norv is going to retire now right? Think he gets a job anywhere else? Plus still firing any coach, let alone Marty, after 14-2 is still funny too.
Andy Reid is probably fine for at least one more year or five.
Still my Seahawks wupped em! The announcer said it but I'll repeat it, it's really too bad it's a moot point to win after losing one we just couldn't lose last week. I expect to see solid undeniable improvement for the rest of the season then I'll get on the Carroll bandwagon. I do have to say that I like the form the team is taking but god damn can we get some decent QB play to help us be a real good team one time shiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit!! It's not just TJack though, some of the calls on Thursday night really made me wonder if we're even trying to take command and gain yardage to sustain the drive. Anyone else see the shit 3rd down calls in the late 3rd and 4th quarters? Man I was steaming at the time. Another year of trades/picks/free agents could really build us out too though. Lots of youth and encouraging development in most phases; Just have to have an offense installed at some point right?
