Huge Cardinals fan living in the Dallas area, tomorrow is going to be a great day

Don't know why everybody thought the Cowboys would dominate, Cardinals have come alive the past couple weeks with Skelton (really disappointed he is benched again, I don't care if Kolb is better statistically, Kolb is 2-6, Skelton is 3-1.)

It's not like they've been playing good teams. And that schedule gets a bit tough over the next few weeks(NE and Chicago and At Buffalo). Fortunately for them, Oakland's schedule isn't easy either. Tebow could end up leading the team into the playoffs and then get shipped out of town.
Yeah, Oakland has to go IN to Green Bay. Fucking ouch. Ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch ouch. And Chicago being tough? Hanie threw three INTs again and their second best player on offense is injured now. Denver's real test is going to be two weeks from now (a game I'm really looking forward to, because Tom Brady has a knack for throwing INTs when facing Champ Bailey).

As for shipping off Tebow, I just don't see that as a wise move at this point. It's still too early to tell if he'll pan out to be a good quarterback, but the offense and even some of the defense (Von Miller especially) rally around him. Miscues aside, there's a lot of team chemistry been built up since he's been the starter.

    But hey, you never know.

Well we probably just killed any possible postseason run by icing our own kicker... I'm still in shock a bit that is all I want to say about any football today.

I don't know either. We never seem to beat the Cards. I also saw this coming due to our last few games.
vs Was won in OT; should have blown them out
vs Miami Won at the last second; should have blown them out
vs Ari lost in OT; should have blown them out

Next week vs the Giants with our weak ass secondary is going to be brutal.

I'm still a Chicago believer. Call me crazy. But I can't bring myself to quit them.

The only reason I don't think he comes back is John Elway. I just don't think he wants Tebow. I think the fact Tebow is winning makes his skin crawl. Nothing Elway(Or Fox for that matter) says makes me believe they'll keep him around long. But given that they are playing themselves out of position to get any sort of QB in the first or second round, I think it's smarter to keep him for another year. But I dunno if they will. He's bound to be dangled as trade bait. And there is no chance he is still there if they do take a QB. It becomes a toxic situation for the new guy.

I'm still in absolute shock from the Dallas game. I have never really been a fan of the Jason Garret hire and his little move to ice Bailey isn't helping matters. We have the chance to put the chokehold on the Giants going into next weekend and instead we're still just hanging onto 1st.

My thoughts on this weekend's games:

Cardinals vs Cowboys: Stupid, stupid, stupid. This is why nobody considers the Cowboys a serious team, they don't know how to play the game. At least the coaches don't.

Vikings vs Broncos: Tebow CAN throw, and come back from large point defecits. I'm putting my money on Denver to take the AFC west this year.

Raiders vs Dolphins: What an ass beating.

Giants and Packers: Knew NY was going to lose, at least it was close. If they can beat Dallas twice, they'll be in the postseason.

You're crazy. At this point, I would take the Seahawks over the Bears to get a Wild Card spot lol. Hanie is awful, plain and simple. The Bears have never had top tier receivers, but Cutler had the ability to overcome the lack of a true 1st WR. Hanie simply doesn't have near Cutler's level of skill. Now with the loss of Forte who has been a massive, massive part of the Chicago offense this year, I don't see how they beat Denver without Tebow imploding and turning the ball over several times which he simply doesn't do. I don't see them beating Green Bay or Minnesota, especially not in Minnesota, when they should have Peterson coming back this week or next. That leaves the Seahawks as the Bears most winnable game and what could turn out to be a huge, huge game in the wild card chase. The Hawks only play the Bears and the 49ers. They should beat the Rams and Cards unless they choke, which Seattle is certainly capable of doing.

Atlanta should walk to a wild card with Tampa, Carolina, and Jacksonville left to play. The Carolina game is certainly losable, but they should beat the other two. The Saints game is almost certainly a loss. Detroit still has Minnesota, Green bay, Oakland, and San Deigo to play. One sure loss and three tough games or blowouts depending on which version of each team shows up that particular day. If Seattle is going to need to run the table to do it, but I would be willing to bet on them doing that before I would take the Bears winning two of their last four.

So, what do you think of the newest nfl.com rankings? Pretty fucking wild. I loved this paragraph under the Bengals' ranking.

No one deserves the eight spot in the ranking. Every team between No. 8 and 14 in last week's rankings lost in Week 13. This is where the rankings get ridiculous. The Bengals got blown out. Ditto the Raiders. The Bears lost to the Chiefs AND lost their best player. The Lions got blown out, but earlier blew out the Broncos, who are ranked higher. The Falcons took care of the Lions earlier this season, yet lost to a third-string quarterback Sunday. Dallas lost to the Lions, but beat the second-ranked 49ers, who won in Detroit in Week 6. ... Ahh, to hell with it. Back to the Bengals. They have the depleted Texans, followed by the Rams and Cardinals on their schedule. The Stripes still can win 10 games.
It's been a pretty wild year.

It's fun, because after the Packers, there's no real cut-and-try dominant teams in the NFL. Especially the AFC. Nobody has less than three losses, and most of the current division leaders have around the same record. It's gonna be a fun playoff when we see teams like Denver and/or Oakland in it. Still rooting for an 18-0 Packers though. Fuck Dallas. Actually, fuck the people that blame Romo for Dallas' struggles.

Sadly I gotta agree with you. First of all Hanie have been such a MAJOR disapointment. Really, he showed in the last Bears drive in Q4 @ Cheif what we expected him to play like. The fuck, when you're thinking Rivers/McNabb is a better QB than your starting one then you know your QB sucks big time.
Secound of all, yes our WR isn't the best. Roy Williams havn't played well enough this season, I hope they cut him and invenst some real money or a high draft for a real WR. Bears in playoff I dont belive it and I'm even a Bears fan. No Forte, No Cutler, No Playoff. Hopefully Bears will be able to buy a few better players for next season, like a 1st WR as you say. That and with Cutler, would be really good, and we just need to keep our defense players. See you in the season 2012/2013 Superbowl Bear down.... :<

I think this deserves a mention, if nothing else it's funny. Aerial shots of the MNF game in Jacksonville were old shots, and one was even a shot of Charlotte:

Also, remember Jeff Garcia? Maybe not, he's 41 now. Doesn't matter, the Texans signed him

I wonder if the NFL is actually going to step up to the plate and suspend Harrison after that hit on McCoy last night rather than just slapping him with another meaningless fine. This is at least Harrison's third or fourth infraction worthy headshot in the past two years. There is a serious pattern here of the guy not giving a shit about the rules in the NFL. Here is the play:

McCoy scrambles out of the pocket and makes a quick dump pass. Harrison goes for the hit on McCoy, but opts to lower the crown of his helmet and launch himself directly into McCoy's facemask instead of hitting him in the chest. This is Harrison's second incident against the Browns in a year. Last season he knocked Josh Cribbs unconscious with a shoulder to the head.

How can Goodell sit there and justify giving Suh two games for stepping on a guys arm and maybe causing a couple bruises and scratches, but continue to only give fines to a guy like Harrison who is putting guys in real risk with his headshots? I wouldn't be surprised if he isn't suspended again and is only fined, resulting in mass crying from the Steelers players and coaches about unfair treatment by the league, but at some point the NFL is going to have to step up on these type of hits like the NHL is finally doing this season.

I hope he does get suspended, and not because I am a Ravens fan, but because as you said, he just doesn't get it. I mean hell, he could've nailed him with his shoulderpads and still gotten just as violent of a collision, instead he leads with his helmet? He is a repeat offender with this, some of the fines last season were perfectly legal, but others were straight up illegal.

Anyways, holy hell. Ben Rothlisberger is a damn freak. My issue with that is, why would Tomlin let him go back out and potentially aggravate it? I understand the idea that Rothlisberger IS the Steelers' offense, but your defense is going to cremate the Browns, why endanger him by letting him go back out there? I already know that BB is a tough SOB, but that was borderline stupid instead of heroic.

I hope he gets banned from the NFL. Permanently. Then I hope he gets his head smashed into a brick wall 40 or 50 times so he knows what it feels like. Seriously, he's never gonna learn, and he's gonna keep breaking the rules. And his little protege Nick Fairley will be next on the list.

Ya know, I've never been a big fan of Big Ben. mostly because of his "actions" off the field, but I also thought he was always overrated. remember the first Super Bowl "he" won? Yeah, he didn't. Anyway, he gained a ton of respect from me last night. To do what he did is nothing short of amazing. I do hope Pouncey is ok, though, he apparently has the same injury Rothlisberger has.

Being a Steelers fan, it has always been the thought that we know Big Ben is generally not an amazing passer (though he is having a good season this year and matured a lot), he does what he does and wins games like Tebow does. Even if it is ugly, he gets the win. But yeah, seeing him come onto the field with that injury my entire family was like "WTF HE IS A MONSTER", and it was very amazing.

And to throw my opinion on the last off-season issue he had, I am under the belief the chick just played the card to get money, as it happens a lot. I don't think he is low enough to do anything like that. Going to stop there so we don't spawn an argument.

And James Harrison issues. If he can pay the fines, whatever, if he gets suspended, he should learn. I don't really care as McCoy was playing around a play later, but it is annoying seeing all this bad rap the Steelers get for being such a dirty team and such when it is only one player.

Hum seems about the same that Romo did earlier this year against the 49ers with that broken ribs. As far as that hit goes yeah he probably needs to be out the rest of the season the league protects there QB pretty good and that hit wasn't necessary he could have wrapped him up or hit him on the chest with his shoulder pads.

By that you mean falsely admitted back into the game despite being concussed, and later explaining how he had zero recollection of events surrounding the hit? Harrison's illegal hit put the guy in a state where he was physically and mentally unfit to play.

I very much hope that Harrison get suspended and that the Browns organization is also under investigation.

Wow I have almost never been more disappointed in the Lions, but to force a fumble on the last play was great despite the refs missing a facemask that should have given the Vikes one more shot.

You cannot say it was great when an illegal thing caused the fumble :P I am a vikings fan so I am probably biased, but the fact that the refs missed that call, on the last play of the game when it was INCREDIBLY obvious live (His head completely jerked around, then the ball came out) just makes me question the integrity of the game. there is NO way all the refs did not see that. It was blatantly obvious. yet no call? Hmmm

Goodell was at the game to, hope he got egged.

The ball was out prior to the facemask. I guess the ref thought that his head twisted around because he was looking for the ball since it was in the same direction.

Your "hmmm" makes me think you are implying bias which simply never happens in favor of the Lions, ever.

Speaking of bias, how about that Fletcher hit on Brady that drew a 15 yard penalty? That was some biased crap right there. Fletcher dives at a scrambling Brady who then starts his slide as Fletcher is already about to hit him. Fletcher gets a flag for unsportsmanlike conduct for a forearm to the head when clearly he hit Brady in the gut and wasn't within two feet of his head. Terrible call, worse coverup explanation by the ref. How bad is the Pats defense? That team is in a whole hell of a lot of trouble if they ever play a team with a functional offense and a functional defense.
