Now that the Chargers are officially out of Playoff contention I pray that Norv Turner is fired, and that the Ravens pick him up as an offensive coordinator, I swear the only coordinator that is worse than Cam Freaking Cameron is Bruce Arians, and well, as far as I am concerned he can stay right where he is .

Congrats to Detroit, it has been a long time, now if you can win in that game, then you'll feel much better as well.

Denver, I wish you guys luck next season, I truly wonder if you'll stick with Tebow though, the players do rally around him, but he is a make-or break kind of guy.

I will kinda sorta retract my previous statement about Flaaco being more of a backup until I see him with a better guy than Cameron calling the plays, but he just seems more like a game manager to me right now, he did kill it with that 92 yard drive on the Steelers, but he NEEDS to target WR's more, I mean holy hell.

When does anything New York shut the hell up? Never.
On a serious note, some teams like to be loudmouth buffoons because It gives them media attention.
Also, when do the Ryan brothers shut the fuck up?
Dallas should've kept Wade Phillips and made him defensive coor. Look at his success when he's with the Texans. Sure fans hated him, but not all head coaches are terrible coaches.

Not until they fire Ryan which isn't going to happen anytime soon. The chatter is who this team is and for all the naysaying, the Jets have been in both of the last AFC Championship games losing both times in close games. You know who else has been in the last two Championship games for their conference? No one. The Jets are a quarterback away. Sanchez isn't a QB who can win you games consistently. He simply can't. The Jets have too many good players on both sides of the ball to fall because their offense can't move the ball on occasion or get out of its own way because of Sanchez. If you are the Jets I absolutely think you move all in on Manning if the Colts move him (same for the Ravens) or you draft someone this year. Sanchez is not the answer. If you put a more capable QB on that team they would be insane, same for the Ravens (I hate Flacco). They have a good running game, decent receivers, and a stupidly good defense.

No coach is going to step down on the team he is employed with. Admitting defeat like that just isn't going to happen. Rob Ryan has done a pretty good job most weeks with a defense that is effectively Ware and 10 other guys. Dallas, with one game left, has given up ONE HUNDRED AND TWENTY fewer points this year without Phillips calling the defense. 120... That is a remarkable change. The reason Houston is better is because they have better players. They have a tremendous amount of line, line backers, and secondary talent. The Boys don't. They have Ware, Spencer, Ratliff, and that is about it. Their secondary doesn't have anyone that approaches Joesph, Quinn, and Manning. Even with Mario Williams missing most of the year, the Texans are a much, much better defense than Dallas.

Damn the AFC is a mess leading into this last week. If I'm right the only guarenteed spot is the Texans at #3rd

Pittsburgh and Baltimore are contending with the Patriots for #1 over #2 while competing with each other for 1/2 over #5

Oakland and Denver are contesting #4th while competing with the Bengals and the Jets for #6

Over in the NFC, #1 and #4 are already determined while 2nd/3rd and 5/6 are merely position contentions between two pairs of teams. Somewhat more boring than the last minute scramble in the AFC in my opinion.

Which leaves only one question remaining, Colts or Rams (not sure the Vikings can drop below both teams if they go 3/13 and the Vikings lose) who's finishing bottom of the NFL?
Ex-Mod. Technically retired, they just won't let me quit.

What I wonder is if the Rams do lose and the Colts win, to the Rams trade Bradford and get Luck? Or do they trade the pick to some team like the Browns or for some teams entire draft like the Saints did for Ricky Williams? I could see the Browns going for Bradford, he did much better under Shurmur than that joke McDaniels.

I'm also wondering if Colts will go for a new QB in draft. There's both Griffin and Luck, which both could be interesting, in each their way, for Colts. I can't see Manning playing that many years to follow, so putting all their eggs in one basket might not be wise. It wont be popular with the fans, but neither will another bad season.

It's going to be an interesting draft this year

I'd tick with Bradford. He's actually accurate and given the right coaches (fuck it, the right team) around him he could be a fantastic system quarterback.

StL needs to stick with Bradford and trade the pick for a ton and get him the help he needs. There are plenty of teams that should be willing to try and get up there and get Luck. If the Rams play their cards right they could really clean up.

Big game tonight. If I'm seeing this right, Saints need to win and the 49'ers need to lose for the Saints to get a first-round bye. Them and the Falcons are already both in though, so it's not a huge game. Still, two fun teams to watch, so far lots of offense.

Is it just me, or do I find something so incredibly selfish by taking a timeout and stopping the game and announcing on the p.a. of the achievement? Is Brees the only selfless one in the stadium?

Eh, I would agree that the celebration was a bit overkill. But this record Is a big one and they want to brag about It.

I think the game should be stopped for a few mins for achievements like this, find it funny they even had to call a timeout to be honest. I'm sure the Falcons have no issue with that, I mean, Brees deserved that.

Congrats to Brees and the crazy thing is, he's probably not going to win the MVP even tho he broke the record.

Unless I'm missing something. I thought they ended up spending that timeout because they'd get penalized for not being ready to kick since everybody was celebrating. I'm probably missing something most likely, but I thought that was in the end, the reason Peyton had to take a timeout.

Love the outcries about the Saints running up the score to get Brees the record last night. Just hilarious. Hey Mike Smith, Atlanta players, and Atlanta fans, you are a professional football team. Stop them. You are paid millions of dollars not to be embarrassed on the field. If you can't stop them that is your problem, not the opposing team's. This isn't a situation where a Class A high school girl's basketball team beats a Class F team 100-2. You are paid professional athletes. Act like it on and off the field.

Big grats to Brees. Dude is an amazing player and an absolutely amazing human being who does as much or more for the community as anyone in the NFL. Guy was abandoned by his previous team and look where he is now. More rings than his old team, now the single season passing record holder, and arguably one of the best ever. I get serious joy out of watching stuff like this happen just to spite the Chargers lol.

It would have been silly for them to not go for the record. The falcons and members of the media looking for a juicy story to write can cry foul all they want, but it would have beenaa bigger team distraction to go another week with that weight on Brees' shoulders.

It's hard to say no to Yoo-Hoo chocolate drinks...the name literally beckons.

Eh, it gets the fans to buy more tickets (even if it's a coincidence).

Let's not get carried away here. Yes Brees is good, but one of the best ever? That's a bit much. He's not even one of the top 3 in the league now and not the best of his own era. As its been said about a million times now, the record only fell because of the way the game has been changed. iirc isn't at least one other QB on pace to pass Marino too? He's a great guy and does tons for the community and is a great story with everything NO has gone through. But those aren't football measurements.
