Not one of the top three? I'd like some of what you're smoking =D

Rodgers, Manning(Hurt or not), Brady(Who I just checked and is only 190 yards behind Brees and is the guy I was talking about). Brees would be 4th at best. Hell, Big Ben has to be in there somewhere too.

You underestimate him. He's definitely a top three QB and has been doing it longer than Rodgers. His name is spoken with the likes of Peyton manning and Tom Brady. He outplayed the shut out of Manning in the Superbowl and is always toe to toe with Brady in stats.

By the way, has anyone made a Braylon Edwards joke yet? He got dropped by the 49er's. And now he knows how all those footballs thrown to him felt. But the team had to call him 10 times cause his phone kept dropping the call.

Rodgers isn't anywhere close. Every QB other than Manning (although Dallas Clark arguably helped him too) gets help from receivers, but Rodgers is the absolute king in that regard. He easily has the greatest receiving group in the NFL that let him get away with a lot of downright horrible passes. Brady is better with shorter passes, but his pocket awareness isn't anywhere near Brees', and although Rodgers is faster he's not any better either. Brees has a great ability to extend horrible plays by his line (as evidenced last night) because he's so acutely aware of the entire field. Big Ben isn't even close to being a consideration. He's great when he extends plays, but he's definitely not in the same tier.

And to top it off, he can't even see over his own linemen. Thoroughly impressed, year after year, with how great Brees is.

You can't not put a guy with multiple rings into this discussion. Ben is a winner. Brady is winning this year with a CFL level defense and is hands down best of his era. Rodgers has lost one game(ONE!) since sometime LAST YEAR and has looked like a machine. Brees got embarrassed last year by an awful Seattle team in the playoffs.

    So I'm reading this as:

    - Rodgers has the best team in the NFL around him
    - Big Ben has had one of the best overall teams in the NFL around him for years
    - Brady has had the best overall team around him for years

Not that they're bad quarterbacks or anything.

All of the saints receivers are no-namers, or at least were, with the exception of Robert Meacham who was drafted in the first round. Oh, and the saints defense is pretty awful too, though they play mch better with the super dome behind them.

And big Ben is a good leader and decent quarterback, but as a raw passer is nowhere near the league the top tier QBs are.

Finally Janikowski is picked for the Pro Bowl, extremely overdue.

I feel sorry for the AFC if that's the best out of their wide receivers.

Whoa bro, back off Braylon for this year at least. He gave away nearly every dollar he made to kids in his scholarship program. Wait until someone picks him up next year then laugh as he continues to drop balls. No clue what happened to that guy. He was an absolute monster at Michigan. You could put the ball anywhere in his vicinity and he would come down with it 99% of the time. Its like his hands got ran over by a car or something. Oh well, hope he can get back on his feet and learn to catch again.

Phillip Rivers is the third AFC QB? Seriously? His team is 7-8. He has thrown 24 TDs against 19 INTs. NINETEEN! his QBR is 86.6. Matt Moore has a better QBR than that. Rivers has nearly the same stats as Fitzpatrick. Raise your hand if Fitz is a pro bowler in your mind. Then again, that speaks to the terrible QB quality in the AFC this year. Mark Sanchez is essentially the third best QB in the AFC. Sanchez. Brady is so much better statistically than everyone else and Rothy is the champion of heart. I would have given the nod to Dalton or Tebow above Rivers for sure. How is Dumervil the thrid DE below Freeney? Freeney has 18 tackles in 15 games about half of Dumervil and has fewer sacks.

On the NFC, how is Eli Manning a Pro Bowler and not Matt Stafford? Stafford is a QB of a playoff team that is locked in. Stafford has 60 fewer yards although in 50 more attempts. Stafford also has 10 more touchdowns and two fewer interceptions. EVen Cam Newton should have gotten that spot over Manning. I'd probably flip Babin and JPP at DE also. Babin has two more sacks, but nearly FIFTY less tackles. JPP is an absolute monster. His 81 tackles is 63 more than AFC starter Freeney.

Looking at stats alone it makes the AFC look like a total joke compared to the NFC. After Brady the fall off at QB is massive without Manning playing. There are 5-6 QBs in the NFC better than the next guys after Brady. Defense is probably better in the AFC, outside of San Fran, but there is a huge stat difference.

The Pro Bowl is always funny. Philip Rivers has one of his worst seasons and makes it. Seriously? Some guys get by every year on reputation and not performance.

  14. #1274
How does Andy Dalton not get in? The Bengals were 4-12 last year and now they're 9-6, going on 10-6 with a very young and inexperienced team.

    Goddamn politics.

The Pro Bowl Is just a joke In the first place. No one even tries to play. The rules prevent anyone from even actually playing like they would regularly. If the pro bowl was like every other regular season then I would actually start to care about It.
The Pro Bowl would be like the best bowl ever If every star player there actually played. Now, I understand that the NFL doesn't want to risk Injuries. But the Pro Bowl rules are just plain stupid. I would also like It If only professionals would pick the players Instead of the public. Most people who vote for players vote only by name or don't know what their doing.

Not to mention with the new way it's scheduled, players from teams that made the Super Bowl can't even play. I'd rather it be after the Super Bowl as it used to be.

Well, fun week coming up for a lot of teams. Big playoff scenarios! Should be interesting as hell.

As for my Broncos, if I were Elway I'd be at some of the bowl games scouting potential draft picks -- because let's get real here -- there is absolutely no way The Broncos will win this week. Orton, who's been completely fucking average all year, will throw for 4+ TD's, 400+ yards and Denver's rushing attack will be held to sub-100 yards.

    Well, aren't we optimistic?

Anyways, I hope that the Ravens wreck the Bengals so we get that damn home field. We have sucked bawls on the road so far this season. I am all up for a "Kill Cam Cameron Campaign" Outside M&T Bank. At least until we fire him and hire Norv Turner, *Prays that the Chargers fire him and Bisciotti acts quickly* If we get Turner the Ravens offense will be leaps and bound better than what they currently are, and if we get a replacement for Flaaco then they would be a force to be feared.

Dallas is fucked. Every big name on the offense is hurt in some way. Felix Jones is still questionable, so goodbye running game.

Oh well. Still plenty of teams to watch. So, question, assuming two teams tie for the worst record, which one gets the number 1 pick? Does it go off division record after that, or what?

Fairly certain it goes by either divisional record or Strength of Schedule after record. Don't quote me on it, as I am not 100% sure about it.
