I wouldn't call myself closed minded on English dubbed since I watched shows dubbed for a couple of months before starting subbed (after saying earlier I thought English was better) and realizing how absolute shit English dubbing truly is.

First thing to come to mind is Ghost in the Shell. Different type of story, but has a similar setting (a crime fighting unit set in a sci-fi future). It's also one of the few series where I prefer the English dub over the sub.

To answer your question on rec's, I will second GitS even though I haven't seen it (heard a lot about it) but my biggest recommendation would be Shin Sekai Yori (From The New World). It shares a lot of the same psychological/brutal elements with Psycho-Pass but the settings are complete opposites.

You'd have to watch it subbed though, mwahaha.

Close minded to dub you say? I could also comment about your icon as well knowing full well that he becomes something like this.
I have watched dubbed and subbed some anime is good dubbed like DBZ or ghost in a shell or cowboy bebop. Some like Psyco pass need to be subbed since the Va's are so much better then hearing the English va.

I haven't heard the Death Note dub, but DB dub is definitely better than sub. I'll never get used to Goku's Japanese voice.

HOLY SHIT THOUGH. ALIBABA'S POWERFUL AS FUCK. He looks beast. Super beast.

The Black Djinn sure look extremely strange. The second group that came out weirded me the hell out.

The giant blue thing though, holy shit holy shit holy shit. All the generals of the 1st Prince look amazing as hell. Why are the character designs in this show so amazing.

And Alibaba's face at the end, too good.

I can just feel this show brimming with so much epic-ness. All these characters coming together. The Leam Empire, the Kou Empire, Aladdin/Alibaba/Morgiana, Magnoshutatt, Al Thamen, and whoever that guy is that Morgiana is with (who's probably more powerful than all of them combined).

Magi 21 - OH SHIT! Alibaba finally shows us his djinn equip! It looks pretty badass. It's too bad we didn't get to this extreme magic with that guy's appearance. Though we'll hopefully get to see both of their powers next episode. Now we just need Morg to show up and kick some ass.

Probably won't see Morg much at all for the rest of the season. Looks like she won't come into play for a while with where she is at now. I wonder if she's going to rally the remaining Fanalis in the Dark Continent a long with that one guy and bring them into the mix.

I'm loving this show. I don't know about you, but I think this season is way better than the first. First season wasn't bad by any means, but damn has this one been good. I hope it's not too long before we get another.

Oh yeah, I was thinking the same thing earlier. The first season was "average". This season though is one of my favorite of all time.

Might be a while, manga is only on 215 or so and the second season looks to end just before 200. With on average 25 episodes per 100 chapters if they keep the same pacing (unless they do with less chapters because things are starting to get insane as hell) then we could be waiting up to two years just for the materials for another season. At minimum a year, but even then no new anime for minimum of 1 1/2 to 2 years.

To Aru Accelerator 3 - All these great faces. Last Order's smirk made my day. The art of this manga is so so so great.

I can't seem to remember Accelerator seeing magic before in either Railgun (which there was none anyways) or Index. This seems to be the first time he's ever seen magic being performed. She seems incredibly powerful though. Wonder if Accelerator will realize what magic is soon. (Unless he does later on in the LN that I haven't gotten to yet)

So The Wind Rises in the Oscars, is it good never heard about it before.

Why didn't witch Academia made it there?

Wind Rises is Ghibli's last film.

Witch Acadamia wouldn't stand a chance in hell. It doesn't even qualify. For a movie to qualify for the Oscars it has to have at least 7 days in a theater in Los Angeles, California and have the backing of Hollywood. It was amazing to see the third Madoka movie to even have a chance at getting nominated (though it never did).

Anything other than Ghibli in terms of Japanimation will most likely never enter the Oscars. Most of Hollywood has probably not even heard of LWA.


Probably the only reason Ghibli even makes it in is because it has the backing of Disney, and I'd venture a guess that Disney owns a good portion of Hollywood and the Oscars.
