    Graphics Issue, giant lines appearing!

I'm not sure if this is the right forum but it seemed best suited. Does anyone know what this bug is or what is causing it?

Have you tried updating your graphics card drivers?

And could you post a Dxdiag System and Display tab?
(Windows key + R then type in Dxdiag)

Also, I updated my drivers through HP Update a few days ago. I will run the update again though to make sure they're still updated.

  5. #5
It's been pretty much everytime I log on for the past few days. It just started happening. And it happens quickly, I saw lines today right after I logged

    Tried WoW repair?

  7. #7
Running it now, we'll see what happens.

Ok it took like 30 seconds and all it said was 'World of Warcraft was repaired.' I have to run to class but after I will check WoW again and see if I still have lines.

Check your CPU/GPU temperatures. Odd textures like that are potentially an artifact from overheating.

I run CoreTemp and my average temperature for CPU is around 60' C while playing. It can go higher but usually thats about it. Is this high?

A mobile i5 should be fine in the 60s. It's a bit warm, but shouldn't cause any problems. What about your GPU?

  11. #11
Game is running now and GPU is around 50'

This is your video card going bye bye. over my years of wow playing i have gone through 3 video cards and that pic is the exact same thing that happened. so ive learned a couple of tricks that may help prolong the card.( may or maynot work). if card has a fan on it, remove fan and clean that area. (worked 2 out of the 3 cards to prolong the life) if you are a smoker keep thy nicotine away from computer. i also upgraded my power supply after the 3rd one went poof. sorry if this doesnt help. this was my experience

This looks alot like what my laptop was doing before I discovered that Future Shop gave me a 95W/6.5Amp AC adapter when the laptop required a 120W/12Amp.

OP: Temps look fine. It looks like you already updated your drivers and tried a WoW Repair. Do you have any graphical problems in any other application?

If not, then logic would state that it's a problem with WoW, rather than your laptop. Try to delete the Cache folder in your WoW folder, along with the Data\Cache folder (not all of Data, just the Cache folder inside Data!) within your WoW folder. If that doesn't work, try Repair again. If it still doesn't work, try a full uninstall and re-install.

If you do have graphical problems in other programs, then it might be time to contact the manufacturer.

Open up video settings and enable vertical sync.

That fixes screen tearing, not vertex popping.
