haste over breakpoints > crit > haste > mastery

Int is by far the highest valued stat, hit is also way higher than the other three we take into consideration. That's why I didn't include them in the prio, they'd just be taking up space.

For Arcane doesn't haste just help you use your mana faster?

When you say breakpoints, do you mean where haste gives us another tick? Abit confused here :P

Arcane benefits more from crit than haste. Its mastery - crit - haste!

I would think so, however you get 1 extra tick at 12.75% haste and and a 2nd tick at 37,5% haste. Seeing that the second tick requires alot of haste I assume that 12.75% is the one you are aiming for --> data comes from a blog on ensidia forum

    Mastery -> Haste -> Crit?
At least for Arcane mages. We get a crit bonus from Magma Armor anyways.

Its Crit -> Haste -> Mastery for Fire...since our Mastery just increased the DoT our fire spells put.

Hit rating is the first thing you want to cap.

for the first set of tier raids, with such low stats we are getting, 40 int all around the board.. minus 2 blues... (int/hit most likely)

If you play fire, you should know that a huge amount of dmg in fire is done by dots(Ignite, living bomb, glyphed frostfire bolt dot which will be main nuke spell at 85[instead of fireball] with high mastery and combustion). So, my opinion for Fire stats will be : Crit>Mastery>Haste.
Of course as many said above, the number one stat is intellect and the hit rating.

We don't use Molten Armor anymore as Arcane.

A funny thing you could do is count in the 5% haste you could get in a raid from shadow priest shaman or moonkin, and then add the fire talent that gives 10% haste when 3 targets are doted (of course that's situational) but you could get 22.5% haste quite easily, which gets you up to 37.5
Probably not the top best choice but it's easy to do anyways.

Do mages use spirit in cata at all?

Hitting 22.5% haste in pre or early raid gear is easy, my name is George W Bush.

    @ SensenmanN

No, mages gain nothing from spirit, unlike ele shaman, boomkins, and spriests who get hit from it.

There is naturally an on-going discussion regarding what stats to reforge from and to. While Hit and Intellect naturally being one's natural choice in the first place, mastery and haste will be the secondary. Due to the fact that mages crit rating along with other stats will be diminishingly low Mastery, increasing dot damage, and haste. Not untill later tiers where you get substantially higher critical strike levels will crit surpass haste.
