Haha. Hopefully I'll have my new HDD by the end of this weekend, so I can see if it's just the HDD. I think I might be having some SATA controller issues. (Again.)

I am curious as to how people arrange their cables so tidily in their cabinets. o_o I tried my best, but it still looks more or less like shit.
Would post photos, but it's frigging dark as all hell here.

Also, Fuzzykins... do you build computers and then sell them like hotcakes?
I swear to god you're always describing having put together another computer.

Sounds like a dream career to me - of course except the parts where you have customers calling - "THIS BROKE"

Been pondering doing it, but first I need something of an economy. And a bit more know-how on the field. Being able to build a computer hardly says anything about my skills with computers.

Also would prefer being able to order from outside the nation and ship it here, simply to test the price waters. :B

My office is ugly, so I'll just post specs.

    Corsair 600T case
    ASUS P6X58D Premium
    i7-960 OC'd to 4.2GHz
    Corsair H70 cooler
    AMD 5870's in Crossfire
    Intel X25 SSD (system)
300GB Raptors in RAID1 (everything else)

Not "new & shiney", but certainly gets the job done!

As far as I heard, building / repairing computers is quite low payed minimum wage career :3 Its may be fun but still. Unless you build custom cases etc (like on million dollar pc's website).

  8. #888
Fuck the repairing part. I'll try and see if I can't wiggle my way into a position where I just sell them to a shop, who then sell them off again with their guarantees and all that shit.

Haha! Don't be jealous! In 8-10 months it'll be old news But omg.. the box it came in was GINORMOUS! It was just crazy! It's like they used 5 trees just to package it!

Yeah, I've seen the box. I've also seen the box for Gigabyte's 6850 which is a little bit bigger than that box. Talk about a waste. Know how big my XFX 6870 BE box was? Slightly bigger than the card itself! Now that's efficiency

Laptop, gaming PC with 2 screens, 40" sony with ps3. A nice subwoofer to set the mood for those intense fps fire fights (much to the distain of my neighbors).

Take on my crappy mobile phone 5 minutes ago.

Hah, should see my 5970s. With the Stock coolers off they're a bit shorter, little over 12" with them on.

Yes, I build computers and sell them on the side.
My actual career is "Lead Marketing Designer" for Clarke College, a college in Iowa.

The last computer I described actually turned out to be this one, I just replaced a few parts and forgot to update the post.

I can't stand having all those cables hanging out inside my case. Cable management is the name of the game, and my case is cable free Just don't take off the motherboard side panel...

Will the force of the compressed cables slam it into your face?

You can probably already tell by the massive curve in the side panel it will.
