You have been judged!
Pics? Great to see another Storm Sniper owner, would love to see how similar it is to mine
Also what cooler are you using?

So computer I built yesterday for classmate... (Needs an OS on it and some pictures, but that's not the point.)
Cooler Master HAF X
Asus Maximus IV Gene-Z
Intel i5 2500k
Corsair H100
Corsair Vengeance LP 2x4GB
Asus DCII GTX 570
Western Digital Caviar Black 1TB
Corsair Force 3 60GB
We had some issues installing OS -- we'd forgotten a DVD drive. I had the Windows 8 installer memory stick handy, but we ran into a problem. Something about "Preparing devices" freezing at 66% and 75% respectively in our attempts.
Now I'm wondering whether to begin a lil' thread of case comparisons between Level 10 GT, NZXT Phantom and the HAF X, after building computers into all of those cases.
Hmm...downloaded afterburner, anyone can help me overclocking?
What's with all these H100's? It's overpriced as fuck for it's performance...unless you're getting some sneaky deals somewhere
>_>
<_<
Your GPU setup needs no overclocking whatsoever unless you're somehow unsatisfied with 580 SLI performance.Hmm...downloaded afterburner, anyone can help me overclocking?
Your CPU does need overclocking to justify the SLI setup and H100 cooler...for which you'll need to go into your bios.
Someone give this guy a quick setup for a 4.5ghz OC? I don't know what's done differently with the i7's.

No, not here at least. Just holds its ground against the NH-D14, but is more convenient. :3
The particular motherboard I worked with I know for a fact have trouble with the NH-D14. Regardless of orientation it blocks the PCIe 16x slot, which is fine if you're just using a boring dual-slot GPU, since it won't cover the bottom motherboard connectors, but in the case of the computer I just built was a triple-slot.
Nope overclocking CPU's is easier than ever before, the chance of fucking up is fairly small assuming you're not prone to making horrible reading/typing errors.

^ That guide uses a P8P67 Deluxe which should have a fairly similar-looking bios to your Maximus.

Following this guide: http://www.clunk.org.uk/forums/overc...beginners.html When i set DRAM to 1.5V it becomes 1.50000, is it supposed to be like that?

Nvm Overclocked it to 4.5 works great
Also, i got bluescreen when booting with 1.25 vcore, so changed to 1.35 But will it be enough? I don't get bluescreen now tho.

Running prime95 and getting temps 65-70 is that ok or to much?
When 2011 comes out, who knows if they'll do something similar or not.
Run this.

And also.... you don't want to just OC like that so quickly. You take it in very short and small steps. You want to up the multiplier x1 at a time, or so that's what I like to do to be sure. In terms of the voltages, you want to up them by .005v at a time to find the bare minimum required.
