And do you actually need an 850 watt or were you planning to Xfire?
They're going to replace the powersupply with a new one. That said, I bought the AX 850 because it was such a short pricejump at the time, while offering options for redonkulous graphics card. :U
As far as I understood I only send the unit itself, so I'm not sending any cables with it. It's a bad capacitor after all, not a bad cable.

I just realized a lil' something: The RV01 doesn't actually feature the AP181. Or at least if what I've got in my lap is such a thing it's using a different frame from what you see in the later cases.
I'm don't really condone returning a used 7970 that functioned as advertised, but to each their own.
Coil whine isn't produced by faulty capacitors. It's produced by high-speed switching causing the filter coils to resonate. This often happens with modern PSUs and video cards with vsync enabled. It can be fixed by the manufacturer cheaply with some trusty 3M sealant/caulk. Returning your PSU for another may or may not fix the coil whine issue. I had a massive coil whine on my HCP-850 in conjunction with my old HD 5870, but it only ever happened once. I still have no idea what caused it, but I'm glad it never manifested again.
The RV01, RV02 and FT02s originally came with FN181s. It was only in 2010 or so that AP181s replaced them. I actually found the FN181s to be quieter at full speed.

I don't really care if you condone it or not. If I'm going to void the warranty -- as I'll be replacing the stock cooler with a waterblock when I'm satisfied -- I need to know I have a card that does as advertised. Which it doesn't. All across the board the reviewers would generally achieve a distinctly higher overclock before even beginning to consider raising the voltage. Mine wouldn't push above 1095 MHz without turning up the voltage, and even when I did I could only push it to 1105 MHz before artifacts kicked in again.
Does it live up to its technical specifications? Yes. Does that satisfy me if I'm going to void the warranty? Nope. :/

Oh, and kidsafe, just to be clear on this: The powersupply is the faulty piece. Of course the resonating stuff itself is elsewhere, but the sound was produced by capacitors in the powersupply.
And those capacitors were faulty, because the noise followed the powersupply, not the system. :/
Where does the HDD go with the NZXT Tempest Evo?
The noise is produced by the filtering coils inside the power supply. The only noise a capacitor would make is a hiss followed by a bang.

Okay... my first build, and guess what happens? I get screwed over 100€. Basically, I forgot to order W7 so I went to my local store to see if they had it and they did! I bought it and opened it when I got home but there were no discs inside. I went back to say that I want my money back, only to get a response ''that cant happen''. Don't know if i'll go there again...

..... if there is a barcode on the package itself with a license number.... then you honestly don't need the disc.
