Yeah to be fair they were pretty cheap, got them for £100 each i think. Though this was a while before i bought the desktop, if id bought them after id have probably done more research, ah well.

Edit: GhostKillah you just reminded me i want one of those wheels.

Yeah, but a 6990 IS two 6970s on the same PCB, so I'd expect it to be able to run that kind of setup. Dual GPU cards generally aren't the most stable of graphics cards either.

I still dont understand why people cut corners on perhipherals. It's the most important bit of the PC.

The benefit you get from proper peripherals is hard to quantify in easily understood numbers, it isn't like looking at benchmarks between 2 GPUs.
    Intel i5-3570K @ 4.7GHz | MSI Z77 Mpower | Noctua NH-D14 | Corsair Vengeance LP White 1.35V 8GB 1600MHz
    Gigabyte GTX 670 OC Windforce 3X @ 1372/7604MHz | Corsair Force GT 120GB | Silverstone Fortress FT02 | Corsair VX450

Personally I never understood OC'ing a GPU. The overall yield in FPS is negligible.

Meh, with a proper PCB you can get an extra 20% sometimes.

Monitors are pretty easy to quantify. The tests are a bit more elaborate though.

I don't think people mind getting a 20-30% boost in performance. I hardly think that is negligible.

isn't sli 670 little overkill for 1 screen? apart from the obvious rig-killers like metro2033 there isn't a game i can't max with mine.
    Nice setup though

Pretty much, there arent that many shops around here you can walk in and see a game playing on a monitor and reviews are often subjective. Comparing benchmarks is easier than reviews for monitors or speakers etc.

Meh, try reading them at www.tftcentral.co.uk . There are enough factors that you can check beforehand. Like colortemp/uni-lighting/ghosting/input lag etc. I based my purchase on their reviews.

Probably, but I wanted to be somewhat future-proof for a while.
If I were to get extra monitors, I'd probably buy a third one for Tri-SLI. :P

Most of those numbers mean nothing to 99% of the people, and that is just when it comes to monitors. How do you quantify the experience of using a mouse that fits your particular hand/grip? How do you do it with a keyboard or a headset?

You can probably put out some form of numbers to show on a website but nothing comes even close to experiencing it in first hand.
