PoM - Now a Smart Heal?

I was raiding Uld25 hardmodes tonight as Disc, and noticed that my PoM would ALWAYS bounce to people who had taken damage (when there was only 1-2 people not topped off). Was PoM hotfixed to be a smart heal? If so, many <3's to Blizzard for finally making it useful outside of aura fights!

As far as I remember, no. I only noticed its smart-heal-ness tonight. Either that or I was too used to its usual behavior to notice.

im pretty sure it been a smart heal for a while....but it only jumps to people who are low IN range

As a glad level disc priest during TBC I can say this is NOT true.

PoM was smart heal atleast since ToC (when i started to play a priest)

dunno if it was before, but as far as I know, it jumps to the lower heal party member within X yards (not sure about what range)

As far as I can remember, PoM has always jumped to the person with the lowest health who is in range.

I re-rolled priest in January, so I can't talk for it's mechanics before that time.

Really? Damn, I swear to god that for all of Wrath, my PoM was constantly pissing me off by jumping to people at full HP who weren't taking any damage, and wasting the last 4 charges.

Since PoM was put into the game it has always been a smart heal because you could bounce PoM between yourself and a tank using SW through TBC dungeons.

PoM would jump to people with a health deficit, if they were in range at the time of the jump. If they weren't, or if someone took the damage after the jump, well it just sat on a person with full health waiting.

This has been its observed behavior since its inception, with one little weird tidbit. If everyone is full health, and clumped together, it prefers you for some reason.

I think that's because if everyone is topped off it jumps to the person with lowest health. If they'd change that to jump to the person with highest health, we'd be sorted

PoM usually bounces to the person with the lowest health. Usually the Priest has the lowest HP when the raid is in full health.

Unless there is a hunter in the group; mine seems to love sticking to pets when it jumps whilst everyone is at full hp.

I've noticed it seems to jump to the hunter pet more than myself, when everyone is at full health. Hasn't really bothered me at all for most of LK, I usually recast soon as its off CD.
Now at 85, due to mana cost, going to have to put a bit more thought into the cast. Saving it for aura damage or cleaves on melee. And letting it complete all its jumps before recast. Probably
just curse hunter pets more when they take a jump =(

It was always *supposed* to be, but it had a little bit of trouble with the "smart" part during Wrath, and would sometimes jump to somebody stupid. Now it seems to have taken a course in triage and is better equipped to jump to the right person

I totally love how on certain fights it'll jump between the tank and OT, back and forth bam bam bam really fast.

And how on others it goes, Main Tank, Off Tank, Warlock who just life tapped and won't take anymore damage soon...
