Eternals 4/10
What. A. Snooze. Fest.
And I finally made it to watch the last season of Homeland and I have to say the finale was brilliant. One of the very few TV shows were a finale feels right and appropriate.

MAGA - Make Alliance Great Again
The fan favorite seasons are the first three ones due to the Brody-storyline, but to be honest, the seasons with him are the ones I liked the least. For me the show got better and better with each season, my personal favorites are 4 and 5 (the season set in Berlin was excellent in my opinion). What's great about season 8 (the final season) is that it brings back characters from previous seasons and has a direct link to season 4, where you see familiar characters and how they evolved during the years.
It's a very good show and well worth your time and with an ending that fits the entire series, it's totally worth a rewatch. Let alone for Claire Danes' and Mandy Patinkin's performances.

Blade Runner (1982) 10/10 Came out 40 years ago today, or something. Dunno what needs saying that hasn't been said already.
I hope they did something nice for anniversary.
Rogue One (2016) 7/10 best sw action scenes ever made, no question about it!

Lightyear
7/10 - complaints about it from my side are due to wasted potential in building the world instead of adding the multiple actions of flight testing that we experience.
FOMO: "Fear Of Missing Out", also commonly known as people with a mental issue of managing time and activities, many expecting others to fit into their schedule so they don't miss out on things to come. If FOMO becomes a problem for you, do seek help, it can be a very unhealthy lifestyle..
Choose or Die
5/10 - I love movies like this where people have to make unpalatable choices (Such as Would you Rather or both truth or dare movies), but this one was just a illusion of choice for most of the movie, in my opinion. It was different but it doesn't rank up there with the best horror films
Top Gun: Maverick
It was fine. Very well produced, OK script, decent acting and an evergreen Cruise getting the MILF and riding the bike/katamaran to the sun.
But for the life of me, i cant get the raving and the 10/10 reviews. I'd give a 7/10.

RRR - Rise Roar Revolt
Went in not expecting much since it just showed up on my netflix feed but man it was a wild ride. I have never seen any movies from India before but it changed my mind I plan to check out some more. Its pretty much a buddy cop/bromance story with over the top slow mo action scenes and a dance battle. It doesn't have the deepest or most gritty realistic plot but man you can feel the passion and joy the actors and director had in making it because everyone gave 110% in the movie. I'd rate it 10/10 best movie I have seen all year.
Ghostbusters: Afterlife 7/10
Always enjoyed the Ghostbusters movies, and finally got around to checking this one out. It didn't disappoint! At first I felt the acting was a little stale but it quickly got better. All in all enjoyable.
Elvis 5/10
Not that into Luhrman's style. Great performance by Butler. The rest of the movie is worse than Walk Hard. If you can't top Walk Hard, don't even make a music biopic anymore.
Black Phone 6/10
I dug parts of it and the acting is excellent. But I didn't find it very scary or especially daring.
Finding the Virgo - 9/10
Short. Less than an hour. I'll just copy/paste the description below.
Vietnamese boat refugee, Lauren Vuong, embarks on a decades long search for the heroic captain and crew of a US cargo ship that rescued her at sea at 7-years-old and saved her family and 57 other immigrants from certain death.
47 Meters Down: Uncaged: 3/10 Sharks that are too large to fit through narrow passageways consistently manage to always be wherever they need to be in order to score a few cheap jump scare kills. Their zombified look was pretty cool, though. The heroines are remarkably resilient, able to survive being chomped on their fleshy bits and shaken about. Movie could've made up for the diasppointing lack of gore and overabundance of stupid with a bit more bikini porn, but they don't.
Booksmart: 7/10 If you took a shot every time someone mentioned a vagina, you'd probably die. Decently sweet, funny, and awkward coming-of-age flick, with some good heart, an amusing running gag, a mostly solid soundtrack, and a likable cast. Jessica Williams is fine as hell. God damn.

Old Henry, 6/10

Nightmare Alley 5/10
There's some interesting things happening in this movie but not enough narrative structure for them to have any weight. I had high hopes but it just plodded along for a lengthy prologue, then when the story finally got working it was too predictable. All 5 points out of 10 are for Cate Blanchett, I loved every scene she was in as the femme fatale, playing it exactly as hammy as you expect from the genre. The rest of the movie was pretty flat.

Top Gun: Maverick: 10/10
Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City
2/10
One of the worst screenplays ever written. I see they kept the hack Paul WS Anderson on as producer, which might explain why it's so bad.
The Northman - 6.5/10 - Not bad, but I had higher hopes for it considering the cast and director. Nicole Kidman was a really weird pick for her role. It's definitely a gritty movie and visually interesting, but something is missing.
Doctor Strange 8/10
Enjoyed it. As far as superhero movies go this one is one of the sillier ones, yet also quite dark. Not mature or anything, just dark with horror themes. It has a pretty abstract premise and plot, yet it's very concise, easy to follow and not pretentious at all. Not a smart movie, but cleverly put together. I like the actors and I like the Scarlet Witch character, and overall how they are blurring the lines between hero and villain. Again it's far from smart and little more than entertainment for the masses, but it's not stupid or annoying. Keeping things fresh over at Marvel.
