DC Universe Online Playthrough Video (16 mins of gameplay etc)

Hey there, Champions of MMOs!

Just dropping by as I figure you might be interested in the MMO mentioned above.

I've got a video of myself playing through the first few levels of DC Universe Online up on Machinima Realm and I'd love it if you could show it some love, tell ya friends, like and comment and stuff, but no pressure

Also, as a sidenote, this is (probably, pretty damn sure) the first video authorised by Sony to be released officially with express permission. Long story short: No NDA breach here. Enjoy!

It looks pretty good. I would want to play in the beta before ever buying it though. Not sure if the beta is still going.

There is one big turn off though..

They are known for ruining MMOs. Star Wars Galaxies was much better than WoW before SOE came along and ruined it.

I beta tested it a few weeks ago. I couldn't get into it. The combat just doesn't feel fun at all for me.

Yeah it definitely is an acquired taste. I found it fun though

That video, if anything, confirmed that I will not be getting that game. With City of Heroes/Villains out there (which I love, but just don't play anymore) and Champions Online already doing the superhero and villain thing, and seemingly better as the combat system for DC Universe looks very destructive to a mouse, there really is no need for this game except to fulfill the needs of the DC fanboys. I don't fear for the future of City of Heroes/Villains anymore after watching this video as I doubt a game like that would take more than a scratch off well developed and established hide.

Yea, and they ruined it. Nowhere in my post said that they didn't originally create it. They tried to make it like WoW when that came out, and it was terrible.

I'll have to try Champions Online. I heard they are moving to a F2P.. I am downloading the demo right now.
