I know there's a pattern to make it and a drop; however I am hearing you can pick this up as a drop at 85 for whatever reason. Any ideas on how to get this?

Nothing you really can do to enforce a drop, i'm afraid. It's completely random. Only requirement is that your skill in Jewelcrafting is 475. I've been very lucky with these trinkets. On the same night I managed to obtain a skill of 475, both the serpent and the owl trinkets dropped for me.

Is it really true you can't get it at 85 due to a bug.. Seriously blizzard wtf...

I've got the Boar and the Stone (Tank one) on the same night on Uldum on mah DK. I'm using the Boar right now and i like it.
English is not my first language, feel free to point out any mistake so i can keep learning.
