What's the best way to farm it in Cataclysm? Still the mobs in Southshore then turn in lockboxes from brd?

I don't think BRD is the right place for lockboxes, I think it's still LBRS.

I killed the mobs in Durnholde Keep, they spawn pretty decently. After I did Tyrs hand, but those mobs have changed now, so no idea if the can be used anymore.

I think the mobs in Durnholde keep are removed and replaced with the elementals that are for the quest you get from some undead, or it is just phasing. You can try to go and kill in Arathi Highlands the Stromgarde keep or in Alterac mountains, junkboxes are still in UBRS/LBRS

LBRS is your best spot, also not risking of being attacked by the other faction
