All right, gentleperchildren, let's review. The year is 2024 - that's two-zero-two-four, as in the 21st Century's perfect vision - and I am sorry to say the world has become a pussy-whipped, Brady Bunch version of itself, run by a bunch of still-masked clots ridden infertile senile sissies who want the Last Ukrainian to die so they can get on with the War on China, with some middle-eastern genocide on the side
For some reason I always felt a female doctor would have a total passion for fixing cars. A greasemonkey. Clothes covered in grease a big tool belt with wrenches and pliers. The Doctor has always been mechanically-inclined but somehow taking that to 11 with a female Doctor works well in my headcanon.
Man the new companion looks terrible. Hard on the eyes, annoying voice. The promo showing her was just awful. Made me want to skip the next season. Unless they do an incredible job writing her character, i just cant see the next season being a success. i feel like shell be a 1 season or less companion.
as for the doctors next regeneration i wouldnt mind seeing a female doctor, if she was like missy, minus the murdery tendencies.

"Steven Moffat has divulged some further information on Doctor Who’s new companion Bill, played by Pearl Mackie.
Speaking in the latest issue of Doctor Who Magazine, Moffat confirms Bill (short for Billie, “Unless I change my mind”) is once again from the present day: “She’s from now, yeah. I know there are rumours about her being from the 1980s, but she isn’t. She’s just wearing what young people are wearing now. I know that, because Pearl chose her outfit herself.”
Moffat promises that Bill will be “very different” to Clara: “I thought, ‘It’s about time for someone a bit more gobby and, you know, funnier.’ The note we’re giving the Series Ten writers is: Bill is someone who asks the questions that nobody has asked for 53 years. ‘If you have a TARDIS that’s bigger on the inside, why don’t you just -?’ … There probably is [a bit of a Donna Noble vibe.]”
He adds: “Another one of the notes we’re giving is: she’s the kind of person who’d never think that they’d end up travelling with a Time Lord. There’s something of ‘the forgotten princess’ about [some previous companions], but we’re moving away from that; Bill is someone who never expected to be travelling around with space royalty, fighting monsters, but has the irreverence and cheek to ask all the questions you’re not supposed to ask on Doctor Who. ‘How different is it having two hearts? Is one a back-up? Do you have very, very high blood pressure?’
Fans will have to wait to see Bill in action though: “We’ll introduce her in the first episode of 2017, and she’ll run throughout that series. She’ll not appear in the 2016 Christmas special, because that would blow the series launch … So there’ll be somebody else – a different, guest companion – this Christmas, like how River Song played the companion role in last year’s special.”
“How we first encounter her, and how we first encounter the Doctor next year, is very unusual for us…”"

Lets make a game "If you have a TARDIS that’s bigger on the inside, why don’t you just?"
If you have a TARDIS that’s bigger on the inside, why don’t you just put the whole universe in the TARDIS?
Time...line? Time isn't made out of lines. It is made out of circles. That is why clocks are round. ~ Caboose
Or it could be a completely rubbish Christmas episode like the widow and the wardrobe with nothing special about it and no special characters
Looking back... was the christmas carol episode really 6 years ago? 0o
So essentially this is Moffat's last ditch attempt to appeal to the generation they lost with Smith leaving, except instead of clever writing and a lovable lead they're going to give us a chav for all the chavs. *angryoldmanrant*
BAD WOLF
If you have a TARDIS that's bigger on the inside, why don't you just...
Put all the daleks in it, then lock them in.
Carry around a whole freaking army.
Love in it and stop bothering earth.
More to come.
On the subject of Bill. Not a princess, asks stupid/inappropriate questions, has a Donna vibe.
Love her already.

Yeah...but...they didn't need to tell you Donna 'had a Donna vibe'. She was just Donna. The artificial, forced character we're going to get is palpable. Donna was one of my favorites, but if you need to actually market a companion as that...well...sounds just like needing to tell me an MMO is new, different, radical.
Maybe I'll love her, idk...but she feels fake already.
BAD WOLF
Well, when Donna was coming, she had a "Catherine Tate vibe" and we all knew what that meant.
To be fair, if before Catherine Tate started they'd said "Yeah, this is Donna, she's going to have a real Donna Vibe" we wouldn't have has a clue what that meant. Who knows, maybe if Bill had come first and it was Donna joining now, they'd be saying "Yeah, Donnas going to be great, she has a real Bill vibe."

"DWM has stated that filming on Series 10 of Doctor Who will not begin until July.
Additionally Steven Moffat has revealed that, in contrast to last year, the 2017 run will mostly comprise single part stories.
Moffat says in the new issue: “We’re going back to more singles. Two-parters worked brilliantly last year, but somehow, with the new companion, you want the simpler version of the show. By last year, the Doctor and Clara had been there for so long, it was a complicated relationship by then, so we needed the bigger stories.
“Next year will have some two-parters, but it will be back to one-parters mostly.”
As for the amount of episodes Moffat himself is writing: “Four, and whatever else I have to do, as ever. I’m just getting down to the first episode. I’ll probably write the final three episodes, too.”
He adds: “We’ve got some very strong scripts in from other writers.”"

i may be wrong here, but tbh i feel like series 10 is moffat simply providing a start off point before he leaves.
i think series 10 is going to be a back to basics, simple, fun romp with the doctor getting to know a new friend, maybe a light rtd esque arc (you know, the kind of arcs where some fucking rando says a word once an episode and it turns out ER MAH GERD DEM WERDS PORTANT)
something simple and fun, so that when moffat leaves theyve got a doctor, a companion, and no loose ends where they can go anywhere.

Best news I've heard about the new run of the show.

i just want the new series sooner rather than later. too big a break could be detrimental.
Hi
"Steven Moffat has talked candidly about the issue of diversity in Doctor Who.
Speaking in the latest issue of DWM, he says: “We decided that the new companion was going to be non-white, and that was an absolute decision, because we need to do better on that. We just have to. I don’t mean that we’ve done terribly – our guest casts are among the most diverse on television, but I feel as though I could have done better overall.”
He added: “I had this baffling idea that if we just threw open each part to everybody, it would all work out in the end. I put my faith, inexplicably, in the free market. It doesn’t work. You can only cast for talent – you’ve got to cast the best person, every single time – but you’ve got to gauge where you’re looking for the talent.”
Steven goes on to explain why he considers it important that Doctor Who leads the way on the issue: “It’s a show that has no excuse. Sometimes the nature of a particular show – historical dramas, for instance – makes diversity more of a challenge, but Doctor Who has absolutely nowhere to hide on this. Young people watching have to know that they’ve a place in the future. That really matters. You have to care profoundly what children’s shows in particular say about where you’re going to be.
“And we’ve kind of got to tell a lie: we’ll go back into history and there will be black people where, historically, there wouldn’t have been, and we won’t dwell on that. We’ll say, ‘To hell with it, this is the imaginary, better version of the world. By believing in it, we’ll summon it forth.’ And, outside of the fiction, it’s about anyone feeling that they can be involved in this industry as an actor, a director, a writer… It’s hugely important, and it’s not good when we fail on that. We must do better.”
“Absolutely it would [be refreshing if the next Doctor wasn’t white]. Two non-white leads in Doctor Who would be amazing. In fact, a lot of people would barely notice … I certainly don’t think there’s ever been a problem with making the Doctor black, which is why it should happen one day. I mean, we’ve tried. The part has been offered to a black actor. But for various reasons, it didn’t work out.”"
http://www.doctorwhotv.co.uk/moffat-...tter-80637.htm
as for who moffat is referring to, hes talking about the 11th doctor which Neil gaiman said was originally offered to a black actor who turned them down before being offered to matt. while neither will say who its pretty damn likely it was Chiwetel Ejiofor (12 years a slave, and upcoming baron mordo in doctor strange)
in an alternate timeline this was the 11th doctor
