I would expect that picture didn't include all of the text. Notice that previous sentence was ended, and "erybody" doesn't start with capital.
Probably in the left column there was another line, not included on the screen, which ended with "ev-" and erybody was carried to the next column.

Anyway, I wouldn't expect this to be true. Nowadays many newspapers will print crazy, made-up stories just to catch attention.
Maybe there is some truth in it, but even then I'ms sure someone "spiced" up the story by adding some "facts" or by ignoring some other ones

I've seen a similar story in the local paper about someone falling outside the emergency entrance to the local hospital, hitting their head on the way down. A passer-by went in to the hospital to request assistance and was told by the nurse on reception to call an ambulance - they were even allowed to use their phone to do so. I can't imagine how that conversation went - "Yeah I need an ambulance. Where am I? At emergency admissions at the hospital..."

The paper had contacted the local ambulance service for their reaction and they couldn't believe it either - the ambulance station is based across town from the hospital as is common in the UK, so it was a good 5 minute drive to reach him. The NHS Trust (that looks after the hospital) defended their response saying hospital staff were not insured to administer treatment outside the building. In some respects you can't blame them, they have budgets to defend against litigation and the UK is turning into the US where people sue about anything.

I heard about that same exact story on the local news website here so I think it might be true, idk

I'd give you an inch, you'd take me a mile, your tail wagging happily all the while.

It wasnt spelled wrong. The woman was obviously black. Therefore, e'rybody is actually the correct spelling. They just left out the puncuation.

But...she wasn't black...not sure if racist or ignorant or trolling: http://www.thestar.com/news/canada/a...call-ambulance

Also, this article has "everybody" spelled correctly...not sure if the quotes are verbatim or not.

I'm sure it was a just a joke, referring to how some southern black people enunciate "everybody" as "errbody." Keep your pants on, Martin Luther King :P

I qualified the possibility of a joke in there, but I still don't trust it o_o.

Guys there are no quotes in front of "erybody" so its obviously a continuation from a previous part of the article.

Nor do you see the indent for a new paragraph when the last column ends on the end of a paragraph.

Very obvious that "erybody" isn't what it says

guys, on another site, the article reads, "...was told by staff no one could help her until an ambulance was called. To a hospital. 'It was horrible. It really was. Everybody who walked through the door stopped and stared at me,' said Wallace..."

don't you think, perhaps, in this newspaper, there was a new paragraph, with one line that partially cut off the word "everybody" and continues on to the next column of text, using the hyphen, in typical newspaper fashion?

    Don't you think that newspa-
papers still do that to keep th-
eir columns in nice neat bloc-
    ks?
