guys and gals, might I ask you if a post contains a really big image, or more than 4 gif images, to edit out that part if you quote it?
large images are really annoying to scroll past, especially if you've read them already. And all gifs on the page are animated at the same time, even if they're the same image. This means that if you have 5 gif images, they will stutter heavily and basically be unwatchable until they've looped once. if someone ends up quoting those images again, that's 10 images that take even longer to load.
Those train gifs took 1 minute to animate overall, which would have been far less if they weren't duplicated. it's just annoying.
Although please note that most browsers are smart enough to realize when an image has already been requested, so it's not bandwidth i'm concerned about. it's about watching more funny images in the same time (and doing my monthly complaining session about people doing stupid images.
also, every image
as a punishment:
there, a non-funny image for you. Edit: although, this might be some kind of irony or other form of metaphysical comedy which completely transcends my capability to process.
