Walking with a friend in the dark is better than walking alone in the light.
So I chose the path of the Ebon Blade, and not a day passes where i've regretted it.
I am eternal, I am unyielding, I am UNDYING.
I am Zethras, and my blood will be the end of you.
49+1 = 50
50+50 = 100,
100 + the 1 you kept = 101
Magic + infinite money :S
You haven't given back $49 per parent though. You've only given back $1. the $1 you kept is irrelevant to the amount you owe. Adding it back in is just an example of bad math intuition (the idea that you can combine similar quantities to get other relevant quantities).
If I say I have $1 and I give you $1, then you think I have $0, but if I then pull out and show you that I still have $1 and you're an idiot you might conclude "Omg, you just made $1 appear out of nothing" but if you're smart you might conclude "So you lied to me originally when you said you had only $1."
God damn it, science. Why you so smart?
Actually, he doesn't owe his mom and dad $49 each.
He owes them $49.50 each. That is where that dollar came from.
Since we can't call out Trolls and Bad Faith posters and the Ignore function doesn't actually ignore it. Add
"mmo-champion.com##li.postbitignored"
to your ublock or adblock filter to actually ignore ignored posters. Now just need a way to ignore responses to them as well.
Nope. The dollar didn't come from anywhere. The dollar could just as easily be thought of as being an extra cost for the shirt (instead of it being a $97 shirt, it could easily have been a $98 shirt, where he returned the remaining $2 to his parents). He simply decided to keep the dollar, but it doesn't affect his debt -- he's only delaying paying it back. Eventually he'll have to come up with $98 to pay his parents back. He's already got $1 of that, so he needs only an additional $97 to meet the full amount owed.

Well, the teacher was a he, and he didn't lie for no reason, he was wrong in his knowledge, and a student corrected him. He could not take that he didn't know everything, so he stuck to his guns. After the incident, I'm guessing he looked it up, and found he was indeed wrong, but could not gracefully bow out, so took a different avenue to justify the detention he gave. Egos can be dangerous things.
