Occasional Excellence is a Server 2nd, 25 man progression raiding guild on Quel’dorei (CST). We are a hard-core progression guild on a casual schedule that successfully competes for Alliance and server firsts without having to raid seven days a week to stay on top. Efficient raiding and strong raiders allow us to continually out-perform other guilds on the server in half the raid time, with current progress at 11/12. <<Progression>>

After having achieved Alliance-First Bane of the Fallen King (Heroic Lich King 10M) in WotLK just 6 weeks after forming, we’ve hit the ground running in Cataclysm with 11/12 down. Most of these kills were Alliance or server firsts. Our number one focus is progression and we will continue to work toward that goal in the coming weeks.

We currently have 2 to 3 spots remaining on our 25 man team. We have lots of flexibility with roles and are recruiting exceptional raiders of any class/role, with a preference for boomkin, resto druid, resto shaman, warlock, mage, holy priest, rogue, and Unholy/Frost DK. Players with 10+/12 ICC hard mode or 3+/12 Cata experience are preferred. Also, in addition to our 25 man team, all applicants accepted to the guild will have the opportunity to apply for our 10 man team on another character.

<<Raid Schedule>>

OE has two required raid nights per week – Tuesdays and Wednesdays starting 7:30pm CST. There is also an optional third night of raiding for 10 mans, in which members can raid on an alternate character.

<<Where Do I Apply?>>

Our application can be found at Occasional.guildlaunch.com. While we understand that gear is in transition with the relatively recent release of Cataclysm, please make sure your toon is in as good of shape as possible before applying. This means you have appropriate gemming, reforging, and enchants, that your professions are raid appropriate, and that you have as many pre-raid BiS items as possible. While we understand that this is a game, we spend a lot of time reviewing and interviewing applicants and expect you to put just as much time into your application as we do. By putting your best foot forward, you make our job a whole lot easier!

Occasional Excellence is a group of adult, mature raiders that share a common vision: a skilled, progression raiding environment with a reasonable raiding schedule. We take raiding seriously and progress quickly, but we refuse to lose sight of what’s truly important – having fun and maintaining balance. We are an all adult guild, 18+ required, 21+ preferred. OE guild members are adults and act like adults. We treat each other with respect, and in doing so, earn it. If you enjoy linking meters, use terms like ROFLcopter on a regular basis, and want everyone to worship you for the divine gift to WoW that you are, then this guild is NOT for you. If you thrive with a bit of constructive criticism and understand that raiding takes a whole team, not just one elite dps/tank/healer, then this might be the right guild for you.

OE is a guild comprised of skilled raiders who are experts on their preferred class and often many other classes. We expect our raiders to remain current with their theorycrafting and to maximize/minimize in every possible way. Because of this effort, many of our raiders have ranked in the top 200 of their class/role on WoLs, with several placing in the top 50.

Our raiders put in significant time before raids in order to be properly prepared – we learn the fights, research our gear, spec, and skills, come ready with raid supplies, and ensure optimal raid composition. Every single OE raider is an asset to the raid. We expect our players to have high situational awareness and to understand the importance of their class abilities.

While we only have two required raid nights, OE is a very active guild on off nights. Our members can be found in vent chatting, running heroics, or doing pvp any night/day of the week. There are also periodic off night raiding opportunities depending on player availability and progression goals.
