Regular 346 weapons vs 359 PvP weapons. (enhancement)

The Gladiator weapons are fairly easy to come over, while PvE weapons are either trash drop from BWD or high end, while daggers, swords, str maces drops from various bosses, so i was wondering if its worth getting PvP weapon(s) untill you get PvE weapons?

I think its a pretty clear yes, it is worth it. Vicious Gladiator's Left Ripper http://www.wowhead.com/item=61331 looks a lot better than Windslicer http://www.wowhead.com/item=57928 which is what I'm using now.

More damage is always what I look for first, secondary stats are just icing on that cake.

Basically this. That and, at least just an observation across all classes whose damage is derived from a weapon, An upgrade in your weapon's top end damage will give a MUCH greater increase in your dps than simply worrying about what secondary stats it has on it.

Using the above quoted's example: The Vicious Glad Left Ripper may have resilience in place of the mastery on the Windslicer, but you gain:
    -96 to Low End
    -178 to Top End
    -17 Agility
    -11 Crit Rating.

all at the cost of 86 mastery.

Now, I may not be a master at determining what is an upgrade, and what isn't, but the way I see things, that 178 increase to the top end (and the 96 boost to the low end, but not as important imo) makes for a pretty huge upgrade.

Always go for the weapon with the better dps. DPS > stats (always!).

A dwarf shaman could pick up those pvp maces so they are only losing 86 mastery compared to the Windslicer and also gaining +3 expertise when dual wielding them. (not to mention the dps on the weapon to begin with)

nice to have until you finally get lucky on BWD trash / Nefarian and have both the axes and swap some expertise back.
Raining Pandarens because of the bouncy racial?

Dont forget u can reforge that crit into to mastery. Like I have in my char http://eu.battle.net/wow/en/characte...psyched/simple

Btw top end dmg its not important to us, Its speed and weapon dps that is.

Wrong. Top end damage is what determines the dps on a weapon, and anything thats not 2.6 speed is not even supposed to be looked at as an enhancement shaman. So lower top end = low dps, which also calculates into top end damage does matter.

OT: I saw a HUGE increase of dps when I got both pvp fists, upgrading from two iLvl 333 fist weapons. Its deffinately worth it.

I don't know why anyone looks at "low end" and "high end" damage and then goes as far as to say that high end damage is more important. That's ridiculous. Average damage is what matters.
Let's see, would you prefer a weapon that does 50-200, or 125-150? The second one is obviously better even though it has lower "top-end" damage.

Anyway, after 85 strength-based weapons, with very few exceptions (such as Cookie's Tenderizer), are 2.6 speed. It's pretty much a given, so it's just as easy to look at DPS as it is to look at average damage (they are proportional if speed remains constant).

That being said, the epic PvP weapons are still a good choice, just as they were early in BC. They weren't always an option in Wrath due to rating requirements and the ease of getting epics, but we're back at the point where epics are relatively hard to get and PvP gear is "easy" again.

Low end is just as important as top end. Consider http://www.wowhead.com/item=51916 which has a higher top end than http://www.wowhead.com/item=51876. They have the same average damage though, since axes used to have a greater damage range (higher top ends and lower low ends) than other one handed weapons. A nice little flavor thing that few knew about and it would seem that they haven't bothered to carry over in current content.

At any rate you're talking about a gain of 137 average weapon damage. This is pretty significant since 1 weapon dps is usually worth 3-7 times as much as any other stat.
