At night, a womans husband comes home from a long days work. He's always tired, his job is physically demanding, so he typically goes to bed. Sometimes, he can't even come home because there is too much to do. The woman, who longs to be close to a man, befriends a younger man. He sees she is sad, neglected, ignored so he tries to comfort her as best he can without crossing lines. Alas, one day lines were crossed and the two made love to each other. They did not know, however, that her husbands mother had seen the man leave and kiss the woman as he departed as swiftly as he could. The mother enraged at her sons wife hired an assasin to eliminate the woman and rid her son of his burden. The woman was walking home one night when the assasin appeared, blade in hand. She ran until she came to the river. The ferryman working the river hasn't eaten in 3 days, and his children are starving at home. The woman pleads with him to let her on, but he refuses because she cannot pay. As fate would have it, the assasin found his target and the woman died a swift, clean death.
Put in order who is most responsible to least responsible for the womans demise. The characters were:
The wife, the husband, the lover, the mother, the assasin, the ferryman
