Difference Between Normal and HC versions of Raids (contribute please)

The purpose of this thread is to clarify a list of ability changes on each boss from the normal mode vs the heroic.

What I'd like to do is make a list from your contributions so people can be aware, besides the obvious more hp on boss/adds, more damage on abilities etc etc. What is NEW in the boss fights you have done or are aware of.

If you are sure of the differences just write them and I'll slot them into their appropriate areas.
For encounters with several bosses etc, I have added them in for sub-category.

I thank you very much for any contributions. You will be noted and acknowledged for your effort if you are the first to say something not currently on the list. Please note I may change the wording of your post slightly but full credit will be given to you.

If you believe someone is wrong with their contribution please notify me and corrections can be made. Any specifics welcome

    Thank you.

*All 10man values submitted by: Netherfall, with exception of Halfus and Omnitron by myself.
    * Totfw 25man values submitted by: Azshira

    Throne of the Four winds:

    Throne of Four Winds:

    -Conclave of Wind

    Nezir: HP: 11,595,420 (10 man) HP: 41,200,000 (25 man)

    Anshal: HP: 6,871,360 (10 man) HP: 23,400,000 (25 man)

Casts Toxic Spores which causes the Ravenous Creepers to do an aoe explosion that puts a stacking debuff to anyone around them for several seconds. Ravenous Creepers do so much damage that it is usually preferred them to be kited because of the Toxic Spores. They only try to cast Toxic Spores twice after each Nurture and it's on a fixed timer and can be interuppted. (Nitros14) (Added clarification: windfurybot & Hermanni)

    Rohash: HP: 6,871,360 (10 man) HP: 23,400,000 (25 man)

Now casts Storm Shield which prevents all damage to him and does big damage every second it is active. This must and should be burned down. (ekhie) (added clarification: wordup)

    - He stacks a debuff called Slicing Gale on all targets on his platform, which increases their nature damage taken by 5% per stack. (Nitros14)

    -Al'Akir HP: 48,099,520 (10 man) HP: 168,300,000 (25 man)

    - Lightning Strike stays on the platform for 16 seconds. (ekhie)
    - Stormlings gain an aura that increases nature damage taken. This increases nature damage taken by 25%. This stacks for each Stormling nearby that is alive on the target it is near. (Nitros14) (Added clarification: Netherfall)

    Bastion of Twilight:

    -Halfus Wyrmbreaker HP: 51,530,000 & Drakes HP: 4,160,000(10 man) HP: 184,667,000 & Drakes HP: 16,600,000 (25 man)

    - All drakes are active. (AliG)

-Valiona and Theralion HP: 49,000,000 (10 man)

    - The dragons stack a debuff on the tanks (similar to Algalon), that will phase them into the Twilight Realm after 5 stacks, this will also teleport any player within 5 yards of the tank. (ekhie) (Added clarification: Ezekiah)
    - Twilight Sentry spawn in the Twilight Realm need to be killed or lots of orbs spawn in the normal realm. (ekhie)
    - Twilight Sentries are constantly spawning in random locations in the Twilight Realm. Each Sentry channels a Twilight Rift as long as they stay alive, which constantly deals damage to random raid members with Rift Blasts. (Hermanni)
    - As of 4.1 Blackout can now be dispelled (like normal mode) Blakkeyez

-Twilight Ascendants HP: 12,840,854 & 8,374,470 (42,430,648 million total for Monstrosity) (10 man)

Overview: The elemental ascendants will help each other in both phases. Arion and Terrastra will watch over the fight during phase 1 and cast Static Overlord and Gravity Core. The only way to remove the initial debuffs is by having the players move close to each other, and only the initial debuffs can be removed in this manner. During phase 2, Feludius and Ignacious will watch over the fight and use Frost Beacon and Flame Rune.

Feludius: Casts Static Overload which is a debuff cancelled out via Gravity Core. The players around the player with the initial Gravity Core debuff constantly get a 10-second debuff which decreases movement speed by 50% and attack and casting speed by 100% applied to them. (ekhie) (Added clarification: Hermanni)

Ignacious: Casts Gravity Core which is a debuff cancelled out via Static Overload. Static Overload constantly places a 10-second DoT on surrounding players. (ekhie) (Added clarification: Hermanni)

Arion: Casts Frost Beacon which fixates on a random player and follows it, exploding if the target comes in contact with it. and causing raidwide damage pretty much destroying the raid. Frost Beacon can be cancelled out via "Flame Rune". (Killaim) (Added clarification: Hermanni)

Terrastra: Casts "Flame Rune" is an AoE damage zone that deals damage, despawns on contact with a Frost Beacon. (Killaim)

Elementium Monstrosity: No change to this phase. (Killaim)

    -Cho'gall HP: 56,688,720 (10 man)

-The Fire Elementals and Shadow Lords that are targettable grant Cho'gall a fire/shadow buff with 10 stacks if at full health when consumed, for every 10% you damage them the buff will have one less stack. (Nitros14)

    - After Fire Elementals, Cho'gall will attack the tank with Flaming Destruction, and after Shadow Lords, the Boss will cast Unleash Shadows three times on three second intervals. Both abilities also gain power from Twisted Devotion stacks on the boss. Also, Twisted Devotion (the buff boss gains from Worshipping) lasts 1 minute (20 seconds on normal), which means if Worshipping ticks and the boss gains any stacks, the only way to reset them is to handle Worshippings perfectly twice in a row (not allowing any Worshipping channel to tick.) (Hermanni)

    - Two Corrupting Adherents spawn at the same time (instead of 1) meaning twice as much Blood of Old God. Only 1 Adherent spawns in 10man heroic. (ekhie) (Killaim) (Added clarification: Netherfall)

    - Cho'gall spawns Spiked Tentacles in phase 2, these must be tanked and not nuked down (due to extremely high HP) (Nitros14)

    - Cho'gall will be defeated at approximately 2.5% health and start walking to the middle of the room where he gives you a speech and dies. At least one person must be alive during this to defeat the encounter. (Azore)

    Blackwing Descent:

-Omnitron Defense System HP: 41,000,000 (10 man)

    - 10 minute enrage timer. (Azshira)
    - Overview: Lord Victor Nefarius (aka Nefarian) will join the fight randomly and change an ability on the current active Golem, this does not happen everytime a Golem is active. (Killaim) (added clarification: wordup)

Arcanotron - Nefarious will affect the rune casted on the ground via Power Generator making it grow larger, and upon reaching its maximum size, explode for large amount of damage. (Killaim)

Electron - Nefarius casts a spell on the player affected by the Lightning Conductor, and after a couple of seconds it changes to a Shadow Conductor. It's an unavoidable Area of Effect spell, which deals more damage the further away you are from the player with the debuff. Shadow Conductor always activates after 2 ticks of lightning conductor. (Killaim) (Added clarification: Ezekiah)

Magmatron - Nefarius will change Acquiring Target so that it will root the target affected by this spell. Players must move from the victim of this attack. (Killaim) (Added clarification: windfurybot)

Toxitron - When Poison Cloud spawns, Nefarian pulls everyone into it and it deals approx 15,000 damage a second. (Alkama)

    -Chimaeron HP: 36,246,424 (10 man) 126,776,592 (25 man)

    - Attacks during Feud (AliG)
    - Nefarian puts a DoT on everyone during phase 3 known as Mocking Shadows. (Emanuel095) (added clarification: Nitros14)

    -Atramedes HP: 34,786,260 (10 man) HP: 110,000,000 (25 man)

    - 10 minute enrage timer. (Azshira)

    - He will call Obnoxious Fiend adds that increase your sound, these are targettable and killable. They have approx 125k hp on 10man. (ekhie)

    - The Obnoxious Fiends spawn at random locations and target a random player, but remain Phase Shifted and untargettable until they reach said player, at which point they jump on the player and start casting Obnoxious, which will increase that player's sound (can be interrupted.) (Hermanni)

    - Double the amount of rings and blasts in (P1 & P2 respectively). (wordup)

    - Nefarian will destroy an additional gong when you use a gong on the ground phase only. (Netherfall) (Added clarifcation: Hermanni)

    -Maloriak HP: 34,631,656(10 man)

    - 12 minute enrage timer. (Nitros14)

    - Nefarian will throw a Black Vial into the cauldron. The emote for the Black Vial phase is: "Lord Victor Nefarius throws DARK MAGIC into the cauldron!" This will allow Maloriak to cast Engulfing Darkness (a breath attack) on the main aggro target within the cone radius reducing healing done by 100%, healing can be done between the casts of Engulfing Darkness (it is chain casted). The Black Vial also causes additional adds to spawn known as "Vile Swill" (1.6million on 10man). These adds put a black patch known as Dark Sludge on the floor under the targetted player which must be avoided or they constantly do damage to you, creating a soft enrage timer if these adds are not killed fast enough. Pools will begin to disappear as each Vile Swill dies, the pools that disappear correspond to the Vile Swill that has died. (Emanuel095) (added clarification: frott)

    - Black Vials occur during the usual rotation of random Vials. However, this Black Vial will always start first in the rotation, whereas the Red/Blue are randomized. Example: Black, Blue, Red, Green. Black, Red, Blue, Green, Black. (sillabear) (Added clarification: KaPe)

    -Magmaw HP: 39,240,600 (10 man)

    - Nefarian spawns Bone Constructs. They spawn once every 30 seconds. A circle is placed on the ground, just like pillar of flame, and shortly after a meteor hits it, producing a Bone Construct and does moderate melee damage. The fire left on the ground moves back and forth quite quickly, and ticks for 40k damage rapidly. The meteor also knocks you to the ground if you are standing in it, assuring your death to the fire shortly after. These do not spawn in p2 but continue spawning even when magmaw's head is impaled. These adds begin casting an ability at 20% called Armageddon, an 8 second cast that if finished will hit the entire raid. (Ezekiah)

    - At 30% no more Bone Constructs will spawn and Nefarian will bombard the area with shadowbolts with a splash component. (wordup)

    -Nefarian HP: 51,363,416 & 9,877,580 Onyxia (10 man)

    - Portals spawn throughout Phase 1 and 3 that suck people into them. The affected player(s) are mind controlled and can be slowed but not stunned/rooted, they get a new cast bar to stop them getting sucked into the portals. While Mind Controlled you can cast Siphon Essence (0.25 sec cooldown) which gives you stacks of Stolen Power at an increasing rate. It gives you a 5 times the amount of stacks you reached during casting Siphon Essence (maximum of 150) as a percentage damage bonus, meaning it maxes out at 750% damage (150x5) for 20 seconds, and a 3 second 500% movespeed buff. (sillabear) (Added clarification: Wordup)

    - Explosive Cinders is cast on random players during phase 2 which deal damage to all nearby players when the duration ends. The player must stay in the lava until it expires. (sillabear) (Added clarfication: Hermanni)

    - Phase 2 ends once 1 Drakanoid is killed, instead of all 3. The lava still takes time to disappear so you do have about a 10 second gap to have all 3 dead. (KaPe)

Just for an added bonus in case people were wondering:

Sinesta HP Values: (added by Netherfall)

    10man: 42,900,000
    25man: 128,000,000

Halfus Wyrmbreaker - All drakes are active
Chimaeron - Starts attacking half way through Feud

Magmatron - Nefarian will make the person targeted by the "Flame Thrower" ability to be unable to move
Arcanotron - Nefarian will make one of the pools which increase damage/mana reg to grow like defile and explode after "x" seconds.

In the last phase everyone in the raid will get a shadow debuff ticking, making the "burn phase" much more intense.
This creates a soft enrage of about 90 seconds.

Oh yeah, forgot about that part.

On heroic Maloriak, Nefarian will throw in a black vial into the cauldron. Adds named "Vile Swill" will spawn and needs to be killed quick with AoE. They cast an ability that makes a black puddle on the ground, just avoid it.
Maloriak also does a dark breath that reduces the healing done to the tank.

  9. #9
Chimaeron - Nefarian puts a dot on everyone in the raid when p3 starts (ticks for about 1k)

Halfus - All 5 drakes are available (instead of 3 on normal). you can release in whatever order

  10. #10
Maloriak has an extra add phase in between the green phases. He will put a 'dark' potion in his cauldron and it will spit out little slimes which need to be killed, and they make little puddles which you can't stand in.

Edit: beaten in the time it took me to type this =(

  11. #11
Heroic Atramedes is the same as normal just that stuffs hit harder. 4.0.6 will bring an enrage timer of 10 minutes to him aswell.

I have checked all videos already and made a topic on my guild's website on the changes I noticed and how to tackle them. It's a fairly large wall of text, so I will put it Omnotron atm here

    Omnotron Defense System
Essentially, the fight remains unchanged, the difference is that Lord Victor Nefarius will occasionally fiddle around with the golem spells and change them. Happens about every 30-40 seconds.

    Abilities changed:
Chemical Bomb: Nefarius will drag all of the raid members in the center of the Chemical Cloud. Move out immediately.
Lightning Conductor: Nefarius casts a spell on the player affected by the Lightning Conductor, and after a couple of seconds it changes to a Shadow Conductor. It's an unavoidable Area of Effect spell, which deals more damage the further away you are from the player with the debuff. Stack up on him (preferably on one of the trons currently active to dps down).
Acquiring Target: Nefarius will stun the target affected by this spell, everyone else must move away instead.
Power Generator: Nefarius will affect the rune, making it grow larger, and upon reaching its maximum size, explode for large amount of damage.

    Throne of Four Winds:
    -Conclave of Wind

    Nezir:
    Anshal:
    Rohash:
Rohash casts a "Storm Shield" which needs to be nuked down or he nukes the raid.

    -Al'Akir
Lightning Strike stays on the platform for 16 seconds.

    Bastion of Twilight:
    -Valiona and Theralion
Stacks a debuff on the tanks similar to Algalon, phases to Twilight Realm.

Adds in the Twilight Realm needs to be killed or lots of orbs spawn upstairs that nuke random people.

    -Twilight Ascendants
Couple extra debuffs in P1 (Gravity Core and Static Overload, they cancel each other out so people with these need to hug each other)

    -Cho'gall
Many changes... The shadow and fire elementals need to be DPS'd down.
Two Corrupting Adherents spawn at the same time.

    Blackwing Descent:

    -Omnitron Defense System
Arcanotron: Nefarian will create an "Overloaded Power Generator" which will eventually explode.
Electron: Nefarian will make the Lightning Conductor hit the whole room, with more and more damage the farther you are from the Lightning Conductor.
Magmatron: Nefarian will root the Aqcuired Target, preventing him from moving.

    -Atramedes
Spawns some adds which increases your sound?

    -Maloriak
"Black" vial phase. Spawns oozes that needs to be AOE'd down. The oozes spout puddles all over the place which you don't want to stand on.
Maloriak will channel some sort of healing reduction debuff on the tank.

Hehe, thanks =). Looking forward to when this is finished coz it will be pretty useful i think ;D.

Also, just from watching the paragon video of Cho'gall - when he does flames/shadows orders a fire/shadow elemental spawns and flies into him. On normal it is just an animation but on heroic it is targetable and it has to be dpsed.

It also spawns really big tentacles in p2 that attack people.

    Thanks for continued contribution everyone.

@ Sillabear, yes these must be DPS'd down according to Ekhie.

    ---------- Post added 2011-01-30 at 03:11 PM ----------

I cleared up the list a little and made abilities appear in italic for easier reading.

  17. #17
Oh and since nobody has said em, from the heroic Nef video. In p2 people will get a debuff called 'explosive cinders' and must swim off of the platforms into the lava to let it explode, and get back on. They have to be healed through the lava and exploding damage.

Also in p1 and 3 he summons little portals which suck a raid member towards them, they get a different cast bar and have to spam an ability to get free. This is where the damage buff comes from that let em cheese it =(

Ascendant Council phase1 new abilities were said already, so I'll add phase2.

In phase2, there are 2 new spells called Frost Beacon and Flame Rune (I'm not sure how it is really called, but I'm too lazy to look for it).
Frost Beacon is a spawn, which creates a Frost Orb that fixates on a random raid member and follows it. If it reaches him, it will probably explode and kill the fixated target.
Flame Rune is a relatively small Area of Effect fire damage zone, which spawns at first, and starts dealing damage after a couple of seconds.
The idea here is for the fixated target to kite the Frost Beacon over the Flame Rune, and both will despawn.

Oh and I haven't noticed any changes in phase3 of the fight, but it doesn't mean it isn't a tough soft enrage dps race

Azshira: This is the add spawned in heroic Atramedes: Obnoxious Fiend. If you take a look at the abilities, it has this:

    Obnoxious
The Obnoxious Fiend is making too much noise! Increases your sound by 10.
Also, I did some digging about Ascendant Council.
In phase 1, it's actually Arion and Terrastra who throw out those debuffs from the balcony, at least judging by their names (Gravity Core by Terrastra and Static Overload by Arion). In phase 2, Feludius will cast a Frost Beacon on a player which makes a Frost Orb follow that player and explode upon reaching, so it needs to be kited. Ignacious will cast Flamestrikes on the ground.

Here's a link to my favourite source of heroic mode videos, which is Cuties Only's Youtube channel. All the heroic mode videos have a ventrilo conversations attached. Here's the url: http://www.youtube.com/user/swmagazine.

Thank you ekhie for clarifications on Atramedes adds and how the fight during council works, I was wondering why the phase 1 adds were using abilities not belonging to them and same for phase 2. It makes more sense that the other 2 elementals are watching the fight and casting those abilities.

Thanks for phase 2 abilities Killaim. And silla for Neffy.
