"My name is Khorianas. Pleased to meet you. And I can only agree with your observation."

The bloodelf took another sip of his wine.

"So what is you name then? Did you keep your former life name? As I understand it you often change it after your ... rebirth."

Khorianas waited for a split second but then ammended: "I don't want ot pry of course. Just tell me what you are comfortable with sharing."

Catherine let out a hoarse chuckle. It wasn't forced by any means, but it sounded like it was tough for her to get through her throat. She shook her head as a response.

"Don't worry. I was Catherine in life, and I remain Catherine in undeath. I cannot remember my family name, nor do I care to do so either. Not that I have anything against my human family, it's just that I have a new family now and chose to expand on my name in their fashion. Catherine Witherheart would be my full name, but please, call me Catherine."

Catherine shrugged. It was true that some of her people were very sensitive about these things. She was too, before, but she'd had plenty of time to settle into it now. One of the good things, that had come with her new identity was the confidence, and comfort in her own, rotting skin.

"Many things changed for me when I turned into a forsaken. Like I said before, my magic changed a lot too. Then person I once was would not recognize me now. She would probably... Hmph, let's just say I am glad she is gone."

As Connor stepped off the boat he inhaled deeply. Ah, the smell of salt water and fresh air!
He approached one of the fishermen standing on the docks and asked for the way to the tavern. "The Salty Sailor Tavern is that way", said a fisherman and pointed his rugged fingers towards the town. "There's a sign, you shouldn't miss it", he said and returned to work on his fish net. "Be careful though, you never know who's friend or foe in there. There have been many strange travelers lately."
"I'll be careful, thank you!" he nodded at the fisher man and went of in the direction pointed out to him.

The fisher man was right, I couldn't have missed this sign. And by the smell of things, I'm at the right place. He opened the door carefully and stepped inside. It definitely smelled like a tavern, Connor cast his gaze around at the tables. He tried to make as little eye contact as possible. Only scouting for a free table. He decided to sit at the right end of the bar where there was a stool available. He put his bow, quiver and bag on the floor. Opening his small gold pouch he fished out a few coins and laid them on the table. "I'll have a mug of beer," he looked directly at the goblin barkeep as he said it.
It was delivered shortly after, and Connor took his first sip. Not that bad actually, he thought as he let the noises of the tavern penetrate his mind.

((Welcome to the RP forum Schappa! Quick advice, introduce your character with a bit of a description. Right now we don't know what you are or what you look like! c: ))

Catherine eyed the newly arrival as he entered the tavern. She tightened her grip around the glass of wine which she had almost finished. A few drips of red still remained inside it. The glass that had once been carefully polished was now smeared with her decay. It looked as if a greasy-handed child had played with it. The forsaken remained calm but alert to the figure.

((Sorry, linked him in my signature. Hope it's OK for you to read there about his appearance.))

Connor looked up from his mug of beer and noticed a quick glance from the forsaken sitting not too far from him. He wasn't sure if he wanted to go over there and meet her. He generally didn't like the horde, but did not want to make any presumptions or make stir up anything so soon after arriving. Instead he looked the other, and found a painting on a wall to look briefly at before emptying the mug of beer.

Jibashi's eyes opened slowly as the midday sun started shining its rays between the dirty curtains of one of the Salty Sailor 's rooms he was sleeping in. His head was pounding and he wasn't certain what exactly he had been drinking, or where his company from last night had gone since they both crashed in the room. The noise from the tavern patrons downstairs was distant and muffled, but it was enough to make Jibashi's hungover face wince and crawl back under the covers.

"What a night. I was supposed to be fishing." He thought to himself and finally pulled his lanky troll frame out of the bed. His green hair was a long mess cascading over his shoulders and across his back. His skin had a faint aqua green hue with freckles of a darker shade covering his shoulders.

The sound of gathering crowds was getting more and more audible now. "What the heck is going on down there? Who starts a drinking party at midday?" He tensed the muscles on his face as another shot of pain jolted through his head, then proceeded to wash his face with some cold water from a jug that was prepared in the bath corner of the room. Everything was still ringing in his head, but he threw on a brown lumberjack shirt and some trousers and descended the stairs down to the pub area anyway.

As Jibashi sat down at the pub counter, he couldn't help but look around in surprise. The place was already hosting a few individuals; humans, a pandaren, a dwarf... A blood elf and an undead even.

"Great. A bar fight is exactly what I need." Jibashi groaned and signaled the barman over, ordering himself a glass of Morning Glory Dew.

"That bad, eh?" The barman grinned.

"You could say that." Jibashi squinted his eyes again and started thinking that maybe a trip to the local herbalist might not be a bad idea.

Catherine's instinct told her to cower and hide at first as more people filled up the tavern, but she fought it. Khorianas remained passive thus far. She wondered if he had grown tired of her company. She was still uneasy among such diverse crowds, especially those that housed humans and wielders of the Light. She spared the newly arrived human one more glance but did not approach him. Despite it not being long since she was a human herself, she preferred to be done interacting with them.

She instead eyed the troll curiously. She had yet to have a proper conversation with one of them. If Catherine was honest to herself she would have to admit they frightened her somewhat. Had it been a year ago she would not have dared to speak to him, but her new-found confidence encouraged her to challenge herself. He looked quite worn as he ordered his drink, but not of battle. Perhaps he was a bit too fond of alcohol.

"Morning Glory Dew. How's that, if I may ask?"

Catherine focused her glowing eyes intently at the troll and fired him a wicked smile revealing her rotting teeth.

Gimain sat at the bar drinking his stout as he noticed a human walk in and quickly went to the other side of the barHmm must be shy or something, silly human.
As he finished his drink he noticed a troll walking down to the bar " U don't look to bright there, rough night?"

Connor noticed a green skinned troll coming down the stairs heading straight for the bar. He didn't look to be feeling well. Connor then decided to be more sociable and moved closer to the dwarf also sitting at the bar. He sat down on the stool closest to the dwarf and looked him over. "Do you speak Common tongue"? he asked and turned his head towards the barkeep and motioned for a refill of his mug.

((Don't know if everyone speaks the same language here, thought it'd be safe to ask))

Jibashi nodded politely at the dwarf and pulled a faint smile. "Yeah, had one too many me thinks." As he turned to take another sip of his remedy, he was interrupted by a cold, yet soft voice.

"Morning Glory Dew. How's that, if I may ask?"

The undead woman's gaze made Jibashi shift in his seat. He had worked with the Forsaken before, but he had never met one who was keen on socialising after the job was done.

"Well," Jibashi cleared his throat, "It tastes like murloc piss but it sets ya head straight if you've got nothin' else." The undead's smile didn't unfaze him, but he tried his best not to comment on the teeth. He turned his gaze back to the drink. "Doesn't do much for ta headache though."

    "I... see. I don't think it's for me then."

Catherine put her empty wine glass down on the counter and waved at the barkeep for a refill. He took one look at the glass and frowned. The forsaken woman merely waved dismissively at him.

"Yeah, sorry. Just refill this one will you, please?"

She placed money once again on the counter and took her glass back as it was refilled with red wine. The bartender was careful not to touch her glass as he refilled it and gave her another sour nod before moving on to the other customers. Catherine sighed and turned to the troll once again.

"I was always quite set in my ways before, but I am trying to change that. But I don't think I'm quite that brave yet, to try something like that."

She looked at the dwarf that had approached the troll and backed off slightly. He seemed friendly enough, to the troll anyways, but she knew what most people thought of her kind. Best to stay alert.

The Forsaken's last comment piqued Jibashi's interest. It was a topic close to his own heart, and he found it somewhat comforting to see someone else in a similar situation, no matter how distant it might be from his own.

"Change..." The troll muttered. "It's not easy ta move out of ya comfort zone. Especially when ya have been doin' ta same thing for a long time." He finished his drink and pulled out a worn out pipe that looked like it had been through a journey or ten. Jibashi then tucked tobacco in it and lit it with a flick of a match. He took a deep inhale, savouring the musty taste of the smoke, then blew it out in one messy puff.

He took the pipe and offered it to the undead with a weary grin. "Brave enough for dis?"

Quietly observing the troll and the forsaken, Connor once again let his gaze pass through the tavern. It was full of noise, but not unbearable. He saw the Blood Elf sitting at a table, alone it seemed. He had an eye patch. Wonder what his story is. Connor also noticed the bright glow in his eyes, ever watching. He shifted in his seat, Blood Elves made him uneasy. Connor turned back and finished his mug. Looking down at the dwarf he asked, "so, what's your story?"

Gimain put more coin down, "barkeep another stout please" then he heard the human ask if he spoke common. " Yes i do speak common, then name is Gimain and yours?"
He glanced at the forsaken as the human asked what's your story. "There is no real story to be told, I'm a blacksmith at Gold Shire just making a living and after a hard days work I like to come have a few drinks here, but I bet you could tell me a story two."

After having been engaged in fast-paced conversation only moments earlier, Melenorn welcomed the peace that came when he was allowed to fade into the background. The Highborne continued to sip his drink, drinking in the stories of his fellow patrons.

Catherine's eyes widened somewhat at the sight of the pipe. She smelled the smoke that the troll breathed out. She had heard the forsaken at home joke about the trolls smoking habits but she had never met enough trolls to determine how serious their jokes were. It would seem that this troll lived up to the stereotype.

She contemplated what to do. Catherine had never smoked anything, in life or in undeath. She had never seen the point of it, but she still thought back to what she had just said, about challenging herself to try new things.

"What is that, exactly? Would it alter my mind like wine or any other substance?"

"Gimain, pleased to meet you. I'm Connor," Connor nodded towards the dwarf. "As for stories, I'm not much of a storyteller. I'm not one for fancy words, nor do I pretend to be a good storyteller. You'd probably be overcome with boredom after five minutes. Also, I don't have much more than stories from battles I've fought to tell, and most of them I'd rather remained in the past." In the back of his mind flashed a string of memories of he didn't want to think about. Mostly fights he or his comrades had lost.
Connor noticed a tall person standing a bit in the shadows drinking quietly. He motioned for him to join them at the bar.

Jibashi had always imagined the Forsaken to be absolute and one dimensional in their interactions with little regard for what went into their bodies. After all, they were already dead. He wasn't even sure if things like food, alcohol or tobacco affected the undead... But then again he had never had the opportunity to offer to share a smoke with one. He was intrigued to see the Forsaken woman approach the new situation with such caution. Of course, now Jibashi did regret leaving his other herb pouch upstairs.

"Nah, mon. All it does is relax ya... It won't make ya see rainbows or start kissin' frogs or nothin'." He chuckled. "It be good for hangovers or when ya need ta keep a steady aim..." He paused and realised he worded that poorly. "... With da bow." He could tell from the hollow stare the Forsaken was giving him that she wasn't going to rescue him out of an awkward conversation.

"Anyway..." He extended his arm to offer the pipe to her again. "The name be Jibashi."

Darren, who'd left the conversation between the others subtly, walked up to the bar and ordered another drink. Already a few in and his vision starting to go hazy, the young wizard placed eight gold coins on the counter. The barkeep gave him a curious look, and Darren just smiled. "Think it'd be a hassle to keep me ah, hooked up for a little while?"
The goblin chuckled. "Sure thing kiddo. Just stay outta trouble, eh?" The goblin winked at him and Darren's courteous smile turned into a smirk.
"I'll try my best." He took the mug of ale the goblin handed to him, and turned to return back to his table. As he sat down he took a sip of his ale, he let his curious glance wash over the tavern, now bustling with patrons who were all in deep conversation. If there were any hiding in the shadows and keeping to themselves, the young wizard missed them. The one that did catch his immediate attention was a sin'dorei, currently speaking to a few others. His gaze was powerful, and Darren found he couldn't look away from the blood elf's eyes. The Kirin'Tor mage cocked his head curiously and narrowed his eyes, then shrugged to himself and took another swig of his ale.

Connor saw another human join them at the bar. "You a troublemaker, eh?" Connor smiled at the stranger. He felt slightly lightheaded from the beer drinking. "Hmm, I might have to get a bit of fresh air" he thought out loud. "Maybe I could get a better view of this place I'm staying at. Can't sit at a bar all day and night either". He slowly stood up from his stool. "Will you watch my stuff while I take a quick trip outside for fresh air?" he asked the stranger.
