What happened when EQ and EQ2 died?
    Oh wait...

What about the millions of people that don't post because they're actually enjoying the game?

There probably won't be another MMO that matches WoW's popularity, unless it's a world-wide virtual reality simulation. Even then, people would probably still play WoW.

Aion has 4 million subs. Thank you come again. Stop assuming that because the American playerbase is used to WoW that it applies to the Asian countries.

    Athene has quit? Rejoice!

MMO-Champion, not WoW-Champion, I'm sure it has been said, but its more than likely than what will happen.

My CEO told me to reply and tell you that we'll just do porn.

PS: Dear CEO, no way, I'm not volunteering for that one.

Maybe because WoW is champion of MMOs? Think outside of the box man, MMO-champion doesnt necessarily mean it is fansite for all MMOs

    2. Welcome to the internets, place where men are men, women are men, and childrend are undercovered FBI agents. Enjoy your stay.

First off, WoW is not dying. Some people are quitting, but the game isn't dying. Everquest is still going, nothing will *kill* WoW. Second, this is a WoW site, no matter what it's called; do people get on TenTonHammer's case for being about games rather than about being about giant hammers?

All that aside, if there comes a time when WoW is in serious decline, it's most probable that this will be a result of another MMO, most likely Titan. In that case, I'd be willing to bet that mmo-champion would start covering another game in addition to WoW.

WoW will die when Blizzard deems it so. I would say it dies around the release of Titan.

MMO-Champ will probably be following Titan/SWTOR after WoW dies. Possibly even D3...granted that is more RPGish

I know that it is hard to believe that anything bad could possibly happen to WoW, but I have a bit of my own logic to throw into the equation. I am not really a fanboy of WoW, or any other game for that matter. Seeing the trend of "RIFT vs. WoW" and "I am quitting WoW" threads popping up recently, I decided to post a poll yesterday in the forums. The poll was active for the better part of 8 hours before the mods closed it down, and to be honest, I was glad they did because the fanboys and trolls were starting to creep in and turn it into a flame thread. The poll managed to rack up 205 total votes and of those votes, 33.66% of the people polled were leaving WoW. While I can't say that this a good reflection of the entire WoW community, I did think is was interesting.

The results can be found here:
    http://www.mmo-champion.com/threads/...t-RIFT-and-WoW

The question at hand, imo, is not if WoW will die, but what would Blizzard be willing to change or willing to do to keep from losing 1/3 of it's customer base?

I must also state that the poll can not factor in the unknown variable of "I am leaving WoW for <game>" people that eventually end up returning to WoW after said game goes bust. I am looking at you former Aion players as a current reference.

When WoW does end, I imagine MMO-C will change to whatever the most popular game is at that time.
The thread should have ended with this post.

PS: The sky has been falling for years in the MMO world, and yet everyday we wake up and WoW is still the king.

People care about Athene enough to quit if he does?
    And Yawning?

Seriously, wow isnt on its last legs. People quit all the time, people also join all the time.

Anyway, MMO champ has a pretty big community (many of the regular posters dont even play wow anymore) . Curse knows that Boub can run a website, chances are mmo champ would morph into a site for the next best thing?

I've seen a lot of people who posted about Rift here with the "banned" banner. I don't know if the Rift people will try and post here or discuss the game here. That said, I would think pageviews here will drop about the same rate as the pageviews on worldofwarcraft.com

dudes , WoW is like Pokemon, it won't ever dissappear
