Theralion's Mirror BIS for demo?

Theralion's Mirror seems like an extremely effective trinket for demonology.

Normal version gives 321 int and a chance on cast for 1926 mastery rating, while heroic version gives 363 int and chance for 2178 mastery rating.

Demo's mastery is demon form damage and pet damage and the mastery that you get from the trinket proc is about equal to 19 points of mastery. With 2% increased damage per point of mastery your looking at an addition 38% damage from pets and demon form when this procs.

So if your already have about 19 points of mastery when you go in demon form you get 58% increased damage + 10% more from demon soul + whatever your racial profs give + another 38% from mirror proc if you wait for that before you use demon :P thats over 100% increased damage and thats just insanity.

Do you all think that mirror is bis for demo?

imo it's not worth it to have to time your meta around a 20 second trinket proc.

In reality I don't think you're going to be able to time this trinket with meta every time. Each fight requires some thought regarding meta usage - many times I have had to delay it and often I just don't have space in my brain to start timing certain procs when so much is going on (maybe a skill issue, but meh).

And if you can't manage to get hit capped from gear without using a hit trinket (even if you reforge it), stump will probably win.

Anyone know how effective it is for affliction? The intel bonus is of course marvelous, but is it worth the mastery? Currently it replaced Gale of Shadows, but I'm seeing much of a damage difference.

I have been using the Heart of Ignacious for demo, and it seems to out preform the other trinkets. the 1605 haste on use works well with Meta. You pop potion, Heart, meta and Immolation Aura ticks twice as fast, and hellfire almost the same. The trinkets comes into it's own and if your demo it's usually because there are adds on the fight, otherwise you would be Destro/Affliction. So I don't know if someone has down the numbers on this trinket for say 4 + targets because this trinket is way under budgeted.

It's not underbudgeted. It's mediocre. It has a long internal cooldown and takes forever to build up a full stack. But hey, if you want to be stubborn and use it over the darkmoon card, jewelcrafting serpent or other trinkets that are better, go ahead.

That's usually how it goes. Good players use what maths out to be the best. Others stick with what they 'feel' is best. Some people have a hard time grasping that math trumps their anecdotal experiences every time.

The numbers on EJ show a less than 100 DPS difference between the major boss drop trinkets on a linear patchwerk fight. It's very likely therefore that their 'anecdotal feeling' they get when they're able to exploit the stacking of procs and mulitpliers with the trinket is actually genuine better performance.

That DMC and Figurine perform so much better is largely irrelevent to a lot of players, since levelling JC for a trinket which will last them 6 months or so is generally out of the question, and splashing out tens of thousands of gold for a similar purchase is equally out of reach. If you can afford to get both, fantastic. In the mean time, as free boss drops go, Mirror is pretty good if you can reliably stack it with Meta. The reason it's good is that if you pop Meta at any point of the proc the bonus from Mastery in your Demon form is calculated at the point you hit the button, therefore you receive the benefit from the trinket for the full 36 seconds. The ICD being at 120s means it actually does line up pretty nicely most of the time. However, there are fights such as Atramedes, Maloriak, Council and Magmaw where you want to be saving Meta for specific points or avoiding phase changes, which make it's abuse impossible. Thus, it's a pretty good trinket, but also situational.

Basically, Bell from Atramedes & Volcano is the 2 bis trinkets for this content, not just because of raw dps, but because of the hit you can reforge it to, they are BiS 'cause they allow you to wear more 372/379 gear.

Why is the JC trunk better? On use spellpower?

Yes it is. It is a constant intellect upgrade with a usable intellect proc. Other procs come in the form of other stats (crit, mastery, haste ect.)
