Increased drop rate on Ashes of Al'Ar?

I have been running Tempest Keep the last few months with 4 friends. Yesterday the mount finally dropped after only 12 runs. We had already made a deal about Ashes of Al'ar would be mine if it dropped etc etc.

But then today, another guildie wanted to go in there and try it out. I came and helped them on my mage alt and guess what, the mount dropped again!

Have anyone else experienced something that should prove the drop rate has been increased? Or were we just extremly lucky?

I think they secretly raised the mount drop rates of all mounts. This happened to my girlfriend and I in Kara. 2 dropped in under 8 runs.

I say both, to avoid arguments. Though, its more likely to be luck rather than a improved drop rate.

I don't know how many times it needs to be said, random loot is random.

Without a large enough sample size, at least 100 times larger than this, you can't conclude anything of value.

Random loot IS random. Your sample size is about 10 000 times too small.



How's that for some randomness? Note that I'm not accusing the OP of the Gambler's Fallacy, just trying to show how insanely streaky true randomness can be. Unless the operator of the damn casino was actually rigging the roulette table. In which case he either screwed up or has balls the size of planets to mess with people's minds 26 times in a row.

He came on his MAGE, and as far I see in the armory links I think his main with the Ashes is a druid.

Ive been farming Karazhan for weeeeeks now, guess ive ran 10-15, maybe even higher then that now, so if it raised, I hope it drops for me soon.

I don't think the drop rate has necessarily increased. Just more people interested in doing it now that it only takes 1-5 people, 15 min or less to get out there, clear the trash, and kill Kael. So right off, the opportunity for it to drop has increased 5 times (assuming a group of 5 versus the max).
