Only recently been toying with Demo for Heroic Maloriak and ran into the same visibility issues. I ended up trying what has been suggested above: turning off my own spell effect emphasis and projected textures. These help but it really comes down to getting comfortable with moving with the add tank. Have him marked, watch your debuffs like a hawk, and try to plan out safe spots for you to move to next. Healers should also realize that you will probably have the hardest time avoiding some ticks of the DoT as well as the small amount of damage that hellfire does when channeling.

Why wouldn't you use meta...at least on the first dark phase. Meta will be up for the green phases and you can use your infernal on the second dark phase.

We had 2 demo locks in 10-man, hellfire is just so big it covers all, we decided to stack and just move all lot, worked out great.
We never used meta on black phases, just on green.
    ononono

you use meta on first black phase, first green phase(after which you spam of hog and incinerate and hope you get lucky enough), if its up for second black(use your infernal here regardless) use meta if you can if not ready for during the black dont and just do normal rotation till second green again

at any rate with 2 demo locks the aoe should be a joke
