For the first time, I am actually concerned over guild placement and faction balance. I wrote this to swtor.com, and will let you know when I get a response:



Hi there. This may also go under guild support. Attached is a message I recently wrote to my guild, and I was wondering if you had anything to add to it. I'm concerned about server balance and placement.
Also, with these numbers, are the chances of allowing us to create alts on the same server going to be impeded?

I think there will be tons of unguilded people. Many people I talk to cant be bothered with signing up ahead of time which I find wierd.

Also, wtf swifty having two guilds? Didn't even know he was going to play SWTOR.
I prefer chipman over swifty anyway.

Can someone who's played Vanguard/Powertech confirm or deny this? This just sounds completely wrong. My suspicions are raised by the fact that earlier in the Q&A he says that Merc is dps and heals while Powertech is tank. Powertech is tank and dps, unless every other piece of information I've seen about the AC is somehow wrong.

I played a commando for a while, healing spec, so let me try to answer your question. DPS commandos (mercs) and DPS vanguards (powertechs) will use similar armor because:
1. Both use heavy armor
2. Both want dps stats
3. Both use aim as their main stat
However, chances are good that once you get into min/maxing one spec might prefer different secondary stats. One might want crit/surge and the other alacrity/power (i just made up those combos as an example).

As for shields, they are just stat sticks for non-tanking specs. Unless you are in tanking mode (spec or ability or whatever) they won't block. It's possible mercs use a second gun instead of the shield, commandos use only 1 gun so they get a shield stat stick.

I dont care much about the numbers yet, I do not beliebe they are representable.
I'm pretty sure republic players will be dominant in the final game, casual players mostly want to be the good guys.

Yeah, Swifty's guild is over 1k people. The limit on a guild is 500, that's why they have 2 there (There is a 3rd one somewhere as well I believe).

I know a lot of people aren't guilded or even signed up with their guilds, but it's still disheartening. I know about 25 people from my guild still aren't signed up there.

That is what i was led to believe, which to me means that a lot of people that did the poll are not in a guild yet.

Also, this just means many warzones on my server will be Empire vs Empire Huttball! No problem (for me) there. lol

Ah yes I forgot that at least there's a warzone where you can fight your own faction.

That might compensate for an imbalance a little, if there is one.

What ever happened to chip anyway? I was in his guild for a while a long time ago and then he disappeared. People said he sold his account and moved on but I haven't heard much since then.
