How to find in game if someone is a Transmute master or not?

AFAIK there is absolutely no way to find this out through any means (in-game, armory, etc.). The most you could do is ask them to whisper you a [Transmutation Master] link from their profession tab, but that's easy to copy/paste from a guildie.

Except by clicking on the profession they linked it shows who's actual profession it is at the top of the profession tab.

you can ask crafter to link his specialization

just ask him to give you his profession link...and you can see from there, i think.
