    Cityguard Gear

So there was a question posted on the front page about city quartermasters selling gear that looks like City Guard regalia.

In the post, the question asks for the gear but without stats.

I'm thinking, how about you can buy the gear with JP/VP, and although the gear will have mediocre stats, each piece of gear you obtain from that City Set will increase your rep gain for the said city by X%.

This could work with factions besides major cities. Could be too easy mode, I know, but what do you think?

That sounds like a cool idea.

Maybe have them work like heirlooms in that shoulders = 10% extra rep, chest = 10%, etc.

It would be weird to balance though, since (for example) the Orgrimmar guards don't wear helmets but Stormwind/Ironforge/etc. guards do.

    Right.

They could do chest, legs, hands, shoulders perhaps.

Doesn't have to be every slot, just the major ones.

There is really shitty low level gear that looks just like it, but I wouldn't call that a set.

This sounds like a fairly cool idea. I would really like to see a set for the Silvermoon Guardian armor.

It's already stupid easy to get reputation with cities now. Just wear the tabard.

Yes, you can get pieces that look exactly like the orgrimmar guard set. The gear is all leather.

I have a full set on my warrior

    You can't get the shield.

Also, what would be the point of having shitty gear that increases reputation gain? You're not going to be able to use it in the instances to actually gain rep because its so awful. Unless they made it scale like heirlooms, but we already have heirlooms. I think the time would be better spent on other things.

Good idea. Perhaps the set bonus could grant the rep increase, or something.

Indeed. We're two expansions past being worthy of more generic warglaive models :/

I like the idea, and I REALLYY hope they put in the Dark Ranger armor from the undercity. I mean you can make a mediocre set but nothing looks as sick as the real deal.

You can already copy his gear completely, the level 60 Horde paladin sets are identical to it

It would be cool to finaly get city guard armor with or without bonuses.

Neat idea. I must say some of the Horde guards have much nicer sets
