ONSLAUGHT FROM THE ABYSS
REVAMPED ZONES:The forces of destruction have been defeated and Azeroth is finally healing to a better place. Old veterans now turn their gaze beyond the Dark Portal with the hope to bring order and harmony to their once beloved homeland. Somewhere else a mighty magician, haunted by the past deeds of his father, seeks a way to redeem his bloodline and conscience. After he experienced a vague vision of a battle between three unknown armies that results in the destruction of two planets he secretly journeys to Outland afraid that it might be the Burning Legion and the forces of Azeroth he saw. But what about the third faction? With a personal reason and a secret plan the young Guardian of Tirisfal, known as Med'an, unleashed his restorative power of nature, arcane and light to gather together the scattered fragments and energies in the nether, reshaping the landscapes and recreating the lost ones. It seemed to be impossible when he noticed that his power was insufficient to complete the task, but with the support of the Naaru of Shattrath and the vials taken from the Sunwell, that Lady Liadrin offered as a repayment for her people's redemption, Draenor began to reborn. But being the medium to such great amounts of energies had begun to rend the body and mind of Med'an, which will eventually cause his death once he finishes or is violently interrupted.
More furious and confident than ever before, the Burning Legion prepares to launch its greatest invasion on the mortal worlds of Azeroth and Draenor. An attempt to exploit the energies pulling together the planet for their campaign and to stop the rebirth of a new world that could give the mortal races of Azeroth a chance to find the secret portals and assault their headquarters in the Twisting Nether. Many heroes, such as Varok Saurfang and Nobundo, have chosen to put aside the grudges of their past and unite with the native races of Outland to defend the rebirth of Draenor against the infinite waves of demons. In Azeroth the prophet Velen, with a secret agenda, summons a meeting to convince the Alliance to send aid to Outland, promising them a secured land in the new world. Meanwhile in Orgrimmar, the Warchief is unwilling to share his home planet with the Alliance and has claimed it as rightfully the Horde's, accusing the Draenei and their allies for being the cause of Draenor's destruction from the first beginning. Nonetheless, leaders of both factions have not forgotten that with new territory comes new resources.
The agents of Kil'jaeden, hidden among the ranks of the Horde and Alliance for years, have heard their master's call corrupting the only hope Azeroth and Draenor has against the Burning Legion's colonisation and the return of The Destroyer. An unknown organization of mysterious races of light and shadow have landed on the shores of Draenor with superior technology and knowledge, disintegrating all life in their path and creating black holes all over the planet. Reports tell about Naaru, Ethereals and artificial intelligent robots killing without warning. Only rumours among the native races tell about their true mission and a possible connection with the Pantheon itself. The greatest and most destructive battle between worlds is about to begin and there will be no other victory for our heroes than the chance to see the sunrise one last time. Med'an is now found meditating inside the inner core of the planet, being protected from the molten earth and pressure by a shield of energy that will break upon his task's completion, as the Burning Legion drill their way beneath the earth to reach him.
Draenor is now officially a planet with oceans, skies, forests, mountains, depths and brand new environments to experience. You will still notice some energy streams and floating rocks on some places there Med'an's work is still progressing. All seven zones of Outland have been revamped and six other zones have been added (with three more in the future patches).
- The twisting nether has been replaced with the green waters of Devouring Sea.
- Netherstorm is now called Fields of Farahlon and is under heavy siege from the northern island crowded by demons.
- Blade's Edge Mountains is now territory of the Ogre empire. The Mok'nathal are making a resistance.
- Zangarmarsh is rotting as the waters are getting corrupted by the presence of an Old God.
- Terokkar Forest (and Shattrath) are constantly being attacked by the Burning Legion and their new undead army.
- Nagrand is in a brutal two-sided war between the Orcs, Broken and Burning Legion.
- Hellfire Peninsula is being cleansed and repopulated by red forests, green creeks and natives.
- Shadowmoon Valley, under Akama's watch, has its temple of Karabor rebuilt. The cleanse was interrupted by demons and a new threat from within.
NEW ZONES:
- Frostmaw Glacier, north of Blade's Edge Mountains.
- Shalaar, west of Zangarmarsh and Blade's Edge Mountains.
- Mag'har Prairie, soutwest of Nagrand.
- Jadefire Jungle, south of Nagrand and Terokkar Forest.
- Nightfall Plateau, southeast of Shadowmoon Valley.
- Netherwing Archipelago, east of Hellfire Peninsula.
EDIT: This was made in Paint and is obviously a PH.
POSSIBLE FUTURE ZONES:
- Argus, a world raid zone reached by entering the dimensional gateway in the island north of Fields of Farahlon.
- Broken Islands, a zone in Azeroth featuring the Stormreaver clan and the Tomb of Sargeras.
- Inner Core, deep beneath Draenor the Burning Legion's machines have drilled their way to Med'an.
This is an OPEN CONCEPTION about a future expansion, that doesn't necessarily have to be the one after Cataclysm, about Draenor and its rebirth. You have the ability to change this thread the way you want by posting a realistic and interesting suggestion, or helping with images or design, and your name will be among the creators of this idea. I will update the original post every time you come up with something that could be added. Don't be shy to share your thoughts!
Fields of Farahlon
Fields of Farahlon is a heavy phased zone that will be lost in the hands of the Burning Legion once you completed the quests. Therefore it will be overrun by all sorts of elite demons and will mainly be visited when doing the dailies in Hellfire Peninsula to bombard their forces as you are being chased by flying demons. In a future patch you will be given the chance to queue for a massive assault to take back Fields of Farahlon having a raid of 40 Horde and Alliance players working TOGETHER as you sail against the captured coast in small boats, almost reminding about World War II. Once you have captured the harbor you will fight your way further north until you reach Doom Island and shut the portal, giving you a limited opportunity to travel to Argus. This event will reset after 2 hours.
Thanks to the healing streams Netherstorm has returned to its former glory as the Fields of Farahlon and is once again a green plane populated by members of the Aldor and the Scryers. But the beautiful landscape would not last for too long. From the misty island beyond the northern coast, mysterious shadows have risen a hidden dimensional gateway from the earth. Having once been the center of potent sources of arcane power the lieutenants of the Burning Legion seek to use the energies to fuel their machines in their campaign to march south. In Eco-Dome Midrealm the Consortium, together with the Blood Elf and Draenei forces, are holding the endless swarms of demons away from the southern lands and Copper Harbor, where the Goblins of Area 52 are building boats to evacuate everyone with enough money to Hellfire Peninsula.
The resistance against the threat from the north is failing and all communications with the external organizations in Draenor have been cut by the new Ogre menace in the west. Without any hope left the remaining soldiers must infiltrate all five manaforges and activate the self-destruction mechanism to later detonate them from the Tempest Keep in order to delay the Legion's crusade. But from what it might have seen like an abandoned fortress later showed to be inhabited by Wretched and a group of strange creatures of light, shadow and metal trying to hijack the ships.
Shadowmoon Valley
Hellfire Peninsula
At first this will be the “starting zone” for a few minutes before being sent to either Fields of Farahlon or Shadowmoon Valley. Later in the game you are sent back to defend the land from further invasions and to dismantle the hidden agents among the Alliance and Horde. A notable feature is the large lake that has filled the once great scar from east to west. The Mag'har have expanded and improved their territory all the way to the Pools of Aggonar. The Draenei and Broken fight the Arakkoa and the whisperings in the south all the way to the borders of Terokkar Forest.
Green planes of grass and small rivers have covered much of the once reddish soil of Hellfire Peninsula. Trees, mushrooms and all sorts of plants in red hue have grown over the remains of the countless races slaughtered during the conflicts. After the power of the Fel Orcs was crushed by the Alliance and Horde, a majority of the remaining Fel Orcs fled to the south shores where Zeth'kur once was located. While some few others have sought forgiveness from the Mag'har and a way to free themselves from their corruption. The tension between Thrallmar and Honor Hold has risen as their orders from their leaders all clear: Conquer the new lands and slaughter any opposition for honor and glory. But when the Burning Legion's forces rained down from the sky upon the fortresses of the Alliance and the Horde, the defences were broken and the Dark Portal was sabotaged leaving the mortal armies no other option but to take shelter in Hellfire Citadel. Surrounded, outnumbered and forced to cooperate, both factions must now push back the Legion's monstrosities, at least enough to get a chance to reactivate the Dark Portal and send word about the onslaught in Draenor.
In the latest hour, when the forces of Hellfire Citadel where almost broken, the battle horn of the Mag'har was blown and an army of wolf riders clashed against the wicked demons. At the same time, the Broken from the Sha'naar and the Draenei from the Temple of Telhamat have made an assault on the controlled Dark Portal from the south and managed to open the dimensional gateway. The Burning Legion was finally pushed back as reinforcements arrived through the portal. Both factions stayed in the citadel after all the hardships they went through and made it their new headquarters as their own settlements were destroyed under the battle. From the north coast large boats could be seen beyond the horizon. Refugees from the land beyond the Devouring Sea informed about an unstoppable invasion going on all over the planet. Thus messengers were sent back to Azeroth with the news, only to find a rain of green fire.
Zangarmarsh
Terokkar Forest
Nagrand
Blade's Edge Mountains
This zone is now completely Ogre themed and has a large city of stone and iron stretching all the way from Gruul's Lair to the Bloodmaul Outpost in the south. The architecture of the Ogres has improved and are often seen together with the Burning Legion's structures. There are many animated Gronn and dragon riders patrolling the empire. All three Ogre clans have their own unique models and voices. In general all new Ogres have a more athletic look instead of the clumpy fat body and thus females are also introduced: Heartspear - red skin, glowing green eyes, tusks and are more muscular and taller than the other Ogres. Bloodmaul - normal skin, tattoos and the standard new Ogre model. Frostmaw - short gray fur, white eyes and no horns.
After the death of Gruul and the disband of the Bladespire clan, the greedy clans fought one another for the dominance over the mountains. Seeing this conflict as a chance to obtain an army of giants, the Burning Legion proposed the most savage clans a power beyond what Gruul and his sons could have ever provided them in return for their allegiance. The leaders of the Heartspear clan, founded by the remnant of the Bladespear elite, the Frostmaw clan, breakaways from Ogri'la that settled on the icy peaks, and the Bloodmaul clan accepted the demons' proposal. Consumed by the demon lords' magic the Ogres were mentally and genetically altered to improve their intellect and performance in the lands they were assigned to conquer.
The Frostmaw, for being the most intelligent of the three clans, were taught necromancy and given the task to awaken the ancient giants and dragons with the concentrated samples of Plague brought by a Dreadlord. Drunk by the blood of the pitlords the Heartspear clan became the most feared warriors ever walked on Draenor, generally used to break any defences with their speed and weight. Together with the Bloodmaul, the Heartspear have easily crushed the Cenarion Expedition, Ogri'la, Horde, Alliance and all other forces in Blade Edge's Mountain, only leaving the Mok'nathal clan as the last threat left in the entire zone. Thus an empire was born with the Bloodmaul as the leading clan, for their great population and loyalty to the Burning Legion, that threaten to expand its territory to Shalaar and Zangarmarsh with the fury of the Heartspear.
