Worst NPC job in the game?

I was in Tol Barad doing dailies today and I noticed that there is one poor mage stuck standing there all day keeping the portal to SW open, and it occurred to me, "I'm really glad I don't have that job!". It also occurred to me that there must be a ton of other NPCs lurking about in WoW with a really terrible lot in life.

So in your opinion, which NPC has the worst job in WoW?

I'm going to start by extending my sympathies to the poor TB portal mage. Somebody give that guy a day off.

I think all the poor npc has to deal with the crap players we have to deal with every day. So all of them get my vote. I mean how many npc feel ignored by a large portion of the player base that refuse to read their quest objective. Which resulted that blizzard had to fix it and point the players on the map were they need to go.

Oh, cool thread! Here's hoping for nice answers

I guess... Being a fruit Vendor in the empty, deserted city of Shattrath?

    Class trainers:
Think about it for a second. They just stand there waiting for somebody to come up to them. When they finally get somebody to "talk to", most of the time it will be a n00b who don't know the right spec's ect. What a let down that would be for a class trainer (I assume that the class trainers are imba-OP-know-it-all masters of their class).

"yey, somebod came to see me"
"wait a minut, did you...you just did put a talent point into that...oh no, not another n00b who brings shame to my class"
    facepalm

Those NPCs that greet level 1s and give them the very first quest. Deal with noobs, be helpful and be forgoten in an hour.

Actually, I think that those NPC's that die in a scripted event have the worst time ever. Why? Imagine dieing 100 x times just because some noob cannot do the escort properly, or simply, because the NPC has to die at the end... only to be revived couple of minutes later and await the same fate.

The poor forsaken and blood elves that have to stand in Garrosh's room with bodyguards. That has to be unpleasant.

Druid trainer in Silvermoon city. That has to be one of, if not the, loneliest job there is.
My name is Cernunnos, I will love you like no other, I have died a thousand deaths, each time I died I thought of you.

I feel bad for most NPC's. They stand in the same spot all day, never eating, sleeping, or taking a bio.

Worst NPC job? -Prolly the stealthed rogue that turns on/off xp gain.

Lonliest NPC? -The NPC that you have to talk to for the Epic Priest Quest. You need a drop off Majordomo Executes in MC, then a rare trinket drop off of some mobs in Winterspring. Then you equip the trinket and it allows u too see this NPC in Eastern Plaguelands near some random cave. Lonliest by far..

That or the Druid Trainer in Silvermoon...Lol JK.

I visit my classtrainer at least 4 times a week and many of my guildmates do it too, so this can not be that bad.
(switching from prot/ret for pve to holy for)

On topic: I think every npc in silvermoon or darnassus is pretty lonely

Could potentially say this about any NPC in Silvermoon or Exodar, except city bosses when opposite faction raids come to say hi.
