Since I use my mousewheel-tilt for strafing, I wonder if I can bind all the movement to the mouse. Like a mini-joystick for the thumb, so I can use all that WASDQE-Keys for abilities. Is there such a gaming-mouse?

I think this is part of why I don't mind it at all with GW2, still super stoked about this game. But I always find myself wishing for something future-y, space-y, where I can maybe have my own ship and equip it out like I would my character as well. That'd be cool.
I know the conversation has died down (triple overtime > sleep > work), but I didn't mean to imply that I thought fantasy was dying, it's still super huge and great games are being produced in the genre, that's cool. Just after all these years I'm kind of weary of swords and sorcery, kings and kingdoms, cloak and dagger, dragons and fire stuff.

I was recently looking at getting one of them game boards, as far as I can tell it's just the G13 vs that Razer one. Has anyone tried both? Thoughts? Some reviews on Newegg were saying the key action on the G13 is kind of meh, but it.. has.. more.. buttons..!
The g19 is pretty cool. I gave up on spending real money on keyboards a long time ago. I always just rub all the numbers and letters off with my rough ass sweaty hands anyway. I've been keeping wal-mart in business thanks to their $11 basic logictech keyboard. Gets the job done although I do miss having a back lit board when I'm playing late at night with the lights off because my family is sleeping.

Hit me up, let's play.
Tried Razer Nostromo but went with g13 since it has more buttons and tweaking abilites (joystick can be used as digital or analog just to mention 1 thing)
Ive used the g13 for 3 years and havnt found anything to come close to it to this date.
Just a tip
Its quite big, and I beleive its harder to learn to use than the nostromo due to the mini joystick. Id check them out irl before deciding if I where u
After I bought it I hated it when adapting to move with tumb compared to wasd keyboard layout for about 1-2 weeks.
But when u get the hang of it, theres no way ull go back to keyboard again.
Id combine it with a good mouse as well.
Got both razer naga and logitech g700.
I prefer the Logitech, its bigger, better shaped, better button layout, better quality. But its a personal pref.
For GW2, the joystick can be a bit messy though when dodging with original ingame keybinds. I remapped those buttons though, just a tip.
The Nostromo's little joystick thing can get a little slippy at times, but there's a lot of easy ways you can modify it.
Personally, I just detatch the actual joystick bit, which leaves it like an old Megadrive controller.
Why can't a company actually make a gamepad aimed at MMO players instead of FPS players![]()
I might practice with the G13 joystick...so far I've been using the keys to move.
Why it's been sitting collecting dust until now is because when I bought I played a lot of WoW, either PvP or healer. Obviously, when I tried switching to the new device I was just terrible and after a frustrating evening or two thought "is this even worth it?". Then it would sit on the shelf for a few months until I repeated the whole experience.
The reason I'm eager to try again for GW2 is that a) I wasn't so happy with the camera and was needing to alter it a lot, really suffering in PvP for that reason...and b) using target reticules is less efficient when you're not using the mouse to look...soooooo...
Am thinking about maybe reactivating my Rift account so that I can start a char and start practising from scratch.
I used a g13 keypad over the weekend and found that it was really quite easy to use with GW2. Took about 8 hours of play before I really started getting the hang of it, but by the end of the weekend I was able to play better on the keypad than I was able to play on my standard keyboard. Being able to reach all of my utility skills, heal, and attacks without having to move my hand or go find the icon with the mouse seemed to also give me a bit of an advantage over some in PvP.
Why do I run? Why do I slay? Why do I play? ...Carrots? Nay.
I keep it 'simple' with my G110 Keyboard and G500. They both work really well, besides the keyboard keybinds feeling a little out of place at first.
I don't usually feel the need to use the extra keybinds, especially because most games really don't utilize them enough for me to care that much. I haven't played an FPS in some time too, so the DPI switches are fairly useless on my mouse. Otherwise, all the buttons can and will be utilized if I deem the game worthy of skill, which GW2 really seems like it can pull off in its FPS style. But the mouse itself, with adjustable weights and buttons and feel, is just awesome. It glides nicely. Keyboard is standard but well made, and the lights are fun to play with on a Red-Blue scale.
I want GW2 to be great - no, more than that. I can't stand raiding in WoW anymore honestly, I don't have the drive for it. It's not fun, just annoying. It's sad, really. Incoming = D3.

Great thread
Using a G15 and a razer salmosa atm. I hated the naga, felt like crap. The salmosa fits my hand perfectly and I don't need buttons anyway.
I have a bit of a concern with GW2. First of all I love the game, best mmo i've played thus far and it's only been one beta weekend. My concern is this... what happens when I hit level 80? ArenaNet doesn't really have the "carrot on a stick" factor that keeps players coming back once they reach level cap. One of the reasons why WoW has done so well in keeping it's 10 million + subscribers is that it has an endless cycle of "powering up" your character. As much as I dislike the grind and carrot on a stick model, it has kept me coming back to WoW for 5-6 years. Sure Guild Wars 2 offers WvW and Explorable mode dungeons, but is this enough to keep logging on? WvW offers an incredible amount of fun, but how long will the fun last? In my opinion they should implement some sort of PvE/PvP rewards system in order to keep players coming back and wanting more. I love this game and want it to live on, and it's hard to look at it from an objective perspective sometimes! Sorry for the wall of text, but if anyone has any input regarding my concern then I am all ears. Thanks guys!
We are supposed to enjoy what you are doing at level 30, 40... same as 80. That's really all there is to it.
The non-grind model worked pretty well for the first Guild Wars. Anet didn't suddenly get all new game designers for the sequel. This is the type of games they make.
Finally, no sub fee. Like the first Guild Wars, when you get bored at max level- play something else for a bit. As Colin said, you can play the game as your only MMO or alongside other MMOs. GW2 is meant to be casual.
Do you really need that fix to keep playing a game forever?
Dungeons and down-scaling basically keeps the whole game end-game, but even with DEs I know some people will want more. The normal PvP matches were really good fun. I like the way you wont have to spend ages to get enough gear to be decent.
The carrot thing always irritated me a little. Once you get the best stuff, a few months later you have to do it all over again. I think that as long as there are enough achievements (and a kill-count, or what I'm going to affectionately term a murder-counter) I'll be happy.
