LOL yea, it is. You got me.
Yh I only played for like 15 minutes because of PC issues.
Didn't really notice a difference....but then again ofc we're all getting better the more we play
Yh...many seem to think there's an archetype that everything must aspire to be and if they don't immediately see it.......lolz gamez broken, epic fail.
There's no mechanical problem in the game at all...it's just it's style.
Dead set on a Ranger as my first character at this point. Great class- the ranged is good, the melee is good, the armor isn't metal/spiky BS. Class flows very well. Rivaled only by Warrior and Elementalist in terms of completeness.
Also, DAT ASURA Axe #1 SKILL ANIMATION
Pretty certain I expressed this thought before, but I don't see why MMOs are scrutinized so harshly for differences in style compared to other genres. Any number of platformers, shooters or adventure games have distinct style and feel from one another. We don't hear a lot of, "Uncharted fail! Walk animation not as responsive as Tomb Raider. GG FAIL!"
It's just a lot of nonsense to be honest.
Ugh I just wasted 15 dollars out of boredom, I joined ONE bg and wanted to throw my computer out the window... how did I EVER play this shitty game. Ahmagawd I am dying of boredom.. I wanna play my norn thief sooooooo bad. Grrrrr. I love GW2
At this point I don't even know what to do, I think I'll be an alcoholic for the next 23 days.
4h went a way too fast.
I played with a friend. We started with some pvp stuff and I got to test dagger&dagger elementalist. Wonderful, so much movement skills. Them my friend wanted to test ele too, just to realize he didn't know anything about profession. Was fun to see him vs sparring npc fights.
We did Caledon Forest jumping puzzle, but died on nightmare area. After teleportation back to life, we moved on asura area and tried to find more puzzles... and we indeed found one. So much fun. It was the one with portals... do you people think that it will have more portals in release? Now it was teleporting us back to start.
Last hour we spent on LA. I noticed that there was new vista. I had whole LA explored on BWE3, now I had 9/10 vistas. We went after it, found it and also found one mad pirate puzzle. It was truly epic. We got out 6minutes before test time was over.
I was surprised they buffed ranger longbow, you can really kite for ever with it now
most changes seem to be tooltip clarifications adding % in. And a nerf to bleed stacking which was needed for some classes.
I really like the new sound cues. Especially for the Adrenaline on my Warrior, a different shout for each charge, no need now to look at my bar to know when to use the Burst Skill.
I think they added other sound cues when Boons were fading but I didn't pay much attention to them.
SuperSample VS FXAA, need to make some more test to see which has the best FPS/Visual Improvement tradeoff..
Shorter Music Interval to always have background music, really nice.
At first I had some issue with the new range indicator on the skill buttons. I was looking athe the color of the number, but it was weird, nothing changed when I was close to the target.
Can't wait to see the changes in the final release !

Page 2 is very /evilgrin
Weeeeeee! It's Mif! Welcome back, you naughty, naughty scamp.
Isn't that more a factor of market fragmentation, Mif?
The article compares the revenues of WoW in years with very little market competitors as the highest earnings/lowest operation costs for Blizz/Acti. Not sure the state of the online gaming market in 2008 [& lesser degree 2010] hold water in 2011/2 where we have only now seen a lot of lower cost alternatives to World of Warcraft. Specifically, titles with higher production value than in 2008/9.
Bit of both. I think you'd probably find an equal number of people who have left Wow for other MMO's and people who have left the MMO market entirely (somewhat due to the wide demographic draw Wow had at it's peak).
All in all, I don't think you'll ever see Wow have a significant subscriber increase again.
I really disliked that article. It was fine until the second page, but then it basically started saying, "GW2 is superior in every way to WoW, so why shouldn't it kill it?"
It's not even similar to WoW, at least if he used Rift or TOR he might be able to argue it.
Hnng those GW2 to WoW comparisons.
