Honestly that's a smidge rude. It's not like I was trolling or trying to start an argument or something. I was simply curious about the topic in question that was being discussed in the prior posts before my own, because it intrigued me as to what this reference could be and if it was actually worth all the fuss. Thus, I asked for clarification, which was provided by Delias, because I do not have the time to read 27 thousand replies. I mean no offense or anything, but what is your deal? o_0 Seriously, it was a harmless question.

I agree, and if you want a more elaborate explanation, its this:

Someone discovered a gravestone in GW2 that had a written hidden message in an in-game language. When translated to english it said "I used to play wow and look where it got me, I should had stayed playing GW2"

Some people found it harmless, others found it offensive, regardless, it was a tasteless easter egg that (IMO) poked fun at another game needlessly. Turns out that gravestone was placed in there by a former employee of Anet, and they removed it. That's all. No biggie, these things happen I even linked a "Cracked" article of other people who've done equally dick moves in previous games (Like that former employee at Maxis that hid a gay parade on a helicopter simulator)

You missed my point, which was there are many things in WoW that people could/can/should/would take offense too, but Anet do one thing(well two apparently it's a crime to imply homosexuality) and the shit hits the fan... that was my point.

And for the most part, when sufficient people have/would/could/or should take offense, blizz has also removed it. Like the Ji Firepaw example. (I for one found that line to be harmless, but of course, others had a different opinion)

BTW, what are the asura supposed to be? Charr I get that they're big humanoid felines with horns, and Sylvari are humanoid plants, but what animal (if any) are the asurans based on? puppies? Meerkats?

On the topic of escorts, they don't seem too bad in GW2. They actually fail if you don't actively escort, you can buff the NPCs with swiftness, and they feel meaningful.

I still don't like escort quests. Babysitting another NPC isn't my definition of fun. If the NPC is more than capable of taking care of their own, and are just as strong (if not stronger) than I am, then they would not be so bad. But almost no game has escorts like that. Maybe GW2 will be the exception. At least I hope so.

On the topic of escorts, they don't seem too bad in GW2. They actually fail if you don't actively escort, you can buff the NPCs with swiftness, and they feel meaningful.

Skelington can't recall finding an escort that actually failed. All of them were just "res the npc if he dies and follow him again." Hell, sometimes he would just find a dead guy in the wilderness that would start the escort midway after reviving him.

Every part of me screamed "don't read the thread" - so, obviously, I read it...well, 10 or so pages.

I found it very shocking TBH...just the sheer negativity and skewed perception - it was like looking in to the fractured mind of someone with very, very severe mental health problems.
