At this point I'm content to see where the story goes, since I've got my ticket and don't have to keep paying admission. I'd like to see things, sure, but I'll wait. I don't really care about more races and professions. New lands to explore is what I'd like to see most of all.

I'm not really fussed about seeing new races or professions. However, I would like to see new weapon combinations for all of the professions. Something to change it up in the gameplay.

Yea that is one thing they mentioned doing a long time ago which I would really like to see still.

Seeing as a-net needs months to make "huge" (cough /sarcasm) patches I doubt they'll implement new weapons/weapon combos within a year.
In most cases, I understand the other side's viewpoint and how they came to it, but cannot tolerate their stubbornness to not see mine (the right one).

I'd like to see Cantha again. I'd especially like to find out all the Dredge were exterminated like the filthy naked mole-rat commie bastards they are. Elona, I would mostly like to see Palawa Joko again. The rest I don't really care about.

What do you even do in GW2? I played it and all i did was crafting best gear within 2 days then WvW and that wasn't fun when you got run over by the other team for a week.

I feel like if you want a game like GW2, you might as well play Archeage. I am not playing either of those games anymore but archeage at least has something beside PVP

    W/E you like.
Dungeons/fractals, wvw, pvp, tpvp, open world bosses, champ trains, guild missions, leveling toons, map completion, collections, achievement hunting, ...

If you don't like any of those you don't play otherwise you just play, makes sense right?

Archeage is a sandbox MMO with an emphasis on PVP and economy. GW2 is an action combat MMO w/ an emphasis on cooperative gameplay.

I don't see how one 'might as well play' another subgenre entirely with opposing gameplay rules. The correlation isn't apparent.

GW2 is not a sandbox MMO; it's just majorly non-linear.

You leveled to 80, maxed out crafting, and crafted full Ascended gear in 2 days? Not only is that impressive, but it's improbable. That's not even addressing that to most people 'best' gear in GW2 means the best looking gear. I hardly doubt you farmed a legendary in 2 days either. So what I'm reading is a giant fallacy due to not understanding the rules of game play, which is ok. But judging a game based on misunderstanding isn't accurate.

There are several activities in GW2 to do and they all begin at level 1. This doesn't even touch on the extension of game play via Living Story and seasonal events.

I am really surprised that you managed to craft ascended items in 2 days. That's very impressive.

Just a heads up for people. If you want some 20 slot bags then this is the perfect time to get them. Account bound but still worthwhile. They work out to about 6g per bag (http://wiki.guildwars2.com/wiki/Halloween_Pail) instead of the 12g odd that they will cost on the TP.

Just to point out, he's probably referencing a time in the game prior to Ascended, when Exotic was the ceiling for most gear(not including Legendaries)and you could powerlevel like that if you had the gold to throw into it. Most of my chars only sport Exotics, just the one has full Ascended.

So essentially you're highlighting more fallacies in such a post, yes? B/c you would assume they were talking about the initial character, which would not 'have the gold to throw into it' and it's also speaking about a past version of the game that is no longer relevant. Not sure what value there is in even giving this condolence. It's clearly a gross embellishment to say you can be done with GW2's gameplay in 2 hours in any sense you could possibly mean those words.

Nope. Could always buy gems, turn them to gold and powerlevel/craft if you were so inclined. Not saying that's what they did, more likely they read it was possible. Nor do I mean all of GW 2's gameplay, but the tunnel vision 'GET TO CAP AND GET BEST GEAR' view most people apply to MMO's, expecting everything to be based around that 'endgame mentality' and playing the game according to that expectation. And when they see that's not the case, instead of adapting their playstyle to suit the game they instead go 'LOL this game sux' and toss it aside. Which IMO benefits the game as they've gotten all the money out of that person they were ever going to get and we no longer have to deal with their idiocy, but that's beside the point.

I was going to make a snarky response but I have too many infractions as it is...

so yeah, rock on, play what you want but I usually don't advertise other games when going into a specific game forum

Makes me think of a statement I once saw about the Internet giving the little man a place to voice his opinions, and observing that the little man is often little because he has nothing of value to say.

Right, which is completely circumventing playing the game and also another example of a fallacy of this argument..yes? I know you're not defending them or anything, so don't feel like I'm attacking you. It's clear they just wanted to stir a pot since they haven't responded since the initial absurdity. It's like anyone who drives by with a post like "Omg, people still play this game? There's literally nothing to do in it" etc.

I agree with your assessment of the company getting their money and letting them be on their way. And to be honest, GW2 is a game where anyone doing anything is never a burden on you as a player. There's no major competition that is 'won' by that behavior, nor does it somehow hinder your own experience. In fact, the design of gameplay in GW2 means anyone rushing in that manner can only contribute to your game at some point. They will either be a body that helps your experience in some capacity in a non factor. It's a beautiful design.

    Archeage is a botting mmo.
Cod has a new campaign, new weapons, new multiplayer levels every year. Zelda has been recycling the same weapons, villains, and dungeons since the 80's. Zelda recycles enough to make cod blush. The same weapons, villains, dungeons, and princess in every single Zelda for the most part. It's almost as cheesy as bowser vs Mario round 35

It's not circumventing playing the game. That would presume some kind of method whereby you don't have to interact with the game itself to achieve your goals. You still have to handle the crafting process yourself, which is...playing the game. Automating the process somehow and/or not having to trade for the resources you need through some sort of cheat or exploit would be circumventing playing the game.

Never say never. I can think of numerous instances where other players have burdened my progress in the game by snatching up objects or changing the state of NPC's I was trying to interact with for purposes of completing a Renown Heart and thus slowed me down, or kited a mob onto me and thus escaped dealing with it themselves. It's not a perfect system. It's very good, but it's not flawless.
