There have been several places over the past 2 years, though here is their FAQ:

"When will there be a beta?

We will be conducting small closed alpha and beta tests in 2011. The feedback from these tests will determine when we will do public beta tests and ship the game. Guild Wars 2 is a very large and ambitious game, and Guild Wars players rightfully have very high expectations. We want players to be absolutely blown away by the game the first time they experience it."

I meant source for the part where he stated that open beta will only be for a week before release. THAT is interesting news if it's true.

Can you guys do me a favor? If you were to "hype" this game, what clips/images would you use? What article links would be best? What features stand out?

I'm not looking for a huge list like the front page, but maybe a couple of each of those things. If you could PM me your thoughts, I'd appreciate it. I simply don't have the time to pour over all the info again.

Also, I could make my own list because I do follow this thread, but I'd rather have it from a super fan than myself who is juggling this and TOR.

lol Good self promotion there! Your channel is pretty cool though. Lots of videos that give good summaries on various aspects of the game and has alot of nice clips of gameplay and interviews to help illustrate each part. Very nice and it's definately worth a look Trolls!

It's also worth taking a look at the official blog as they often have very detailed articles, videos, audio clips, etc. There's quite a few recent entries too since Sylvari week has just finished and there was a new entry each day (except Thursday, which saw the Sylvari page on the main game website get updated).

I'll definately check it out when I get home from work since I haven't been to it yet.

But I'm more looking for a couple of the best videos (like the 10 reason to play video and something else), a few key articles, and a list of 5-10 things that make people want to play. just a few things that can be put in a short blog to say, "Hey, check this awesome shit out".

The bold part, does that Mean It'll offer more content with these patches, cause that's my concern, which could of been raised over the previous 200 pages, but I'm not reading that much.
Because they're Is no monthly fee, that would be my concern.

if you go by GW1's model up until after the Eye of the North expansion, then yes they will release more content than WoW over the same period of time; over a 2-3 year period of time they had 3 stand-alone games AND an expansion along with frequent free content updates.

I should have added a note the 60 second one mentions the mesmer as if it's confirmed - don't want to go round that whole loop again, but some small chance of misleading info there.

Actually there are 61 reasons in the video. He threw in the mesmer on purpose as a supposedly 61st reason.

Well GW 1 had paid expansions which were released every 6 month. they've no content patcheds as I remember (correct me if I'm mistaken)
And I'm sure there will be something paid like expansion, I'm interesting if there will be free content patches.

yes it has been confirmed by the lead content designer Colin that there will be free content patches from day 1. they will do things like add dynamic events around the game world but not put them in the patch notes so we can discover them on our own.

I remember them talking about discovering random DEs, didn't realise they would stealth-patch them in. Nice one.

I was under the impression GW1 had received some free content via patches? Might well be wrong on that though, can't think of an actual source
