They said that they will measure your level of participation, and reward you accordingly. How many of the sub-objectives of an event did you achieve? Did you defend the cannons, did you collect ammo, did you do any damage to the boss, did you fire any mortars, did you revive any allies? Autoattacking some mob will just get you killed - since you have to actively avoid damage (ie you have to be awake and at your keyboard) or you will die. If you spent 90% of the event dead, you won't be accomplishing many objectives either.
I'm sure the system won't be flawless, but it's not that hard to measure participation.
Just ignore Tackhisis, all he does is troll the GW2 thread.

For example, if you are on an english-speaking server, you should be forced to use english characters. If you are on a euro server, or asian server, then those respective characters should be available. I don't really see the need for a non-english-spelled name on an english server.
I hope NCsoft has stepped up their game cause they were god awful developers for Aion.....ZERO customer feedback or support and did not respond to a single thing on the forums. That game was an asian import tho so they had no real say in anything for that game, I'm really hoping with a NA developed game things will change.
Well NCSoft is not developing this game so I'm fairly confident in saying they won't have any affect on it.

I gotta say that I'm kinda disappointed with some recent videos. I can't explain exactly why...
Its hard to explain >.>
Some small things like the movement, spell effects and spell sounds that bother me.
There is also a boss that should be an extremely vicious creature but instead he just stands there throwing some abilities and a few melee attacks. He is massive and all but I couldn't feel the "ooh dangerous monster"
Meh, it's a public event so it can't really be that difficult if they actually want people to down it. You might have also missed the adds that constantly spawn to destroy the turrets/helpful NPC's that you have to deal with in addition to the boss. Also, just FYI, they scaled down the difficulty of the events (specifically bosses) for the demo's because people who are playing have no experience with the game. It's guaranteed that the boss will be much more difficult when the game goes live.
