I don't know why I'm so determined to buy it, haha. I guess I feel... obligated? I'm not sure, but I'll feel like I'm not a real fan if I don't get it, lol.

I would definitely buy it for the art book, or buy a standalone art book if that ends up being available. It was that patented "painterly" art style that drew me into the game in the first place, and I won't soon forget it.

Oh god, same here. I would hate for it to come out in the middle of the semester. I'd hardly have any time to pull all-nighters! And I intend to pull all-nighters anyway regardless if it comes out during the semester or not.

And what makes me glad about the dev team is that they appear to be able to perform usefull basic testing of the game (they play it well!) so it can please the 'casual' players (read: young/bad/not capable players), since again feedback will most likely be flooded by complains and useless information. I think they know it and that is why they dont plan to drag the beta phase for long: server stabilities and basic gameplay checks will be the order in my opinion, class balancing issues will come after the release.
(sry for my bad english, i know i would be a terrific beta tester but again i think most people wont, it's only my opinion)
Well, but then again you have gamers (like myself) who are more than willing to learn how to continuously be a good beta tester for a game. I've thus far been in 3 different MMO betas and from each one I learned a lesson about being a good tester. So in the grand scheme of things, its better to have a player base who don't know how to "properly" beta test and wants to learn, rather than those who are basically in it for the free preview.

Easter Holidays come to mind! Although, given the "no grind" atmosphere of the game, I doubt we'll feel like we have to play 24/7 to achieve anything noteworthy. I just really want it to come out

i agree and again i'll say i may be mis-interpreted. Good willing is of course the first step to bring something on the table. I just have no hope people will report complitated things (yet the most important ones) since they wont see thoses (they will still enjoy the game). I am talking elitism if you want to caricature.
Entering beta phase the only things we'll need is that game developers continue playing their game, giving they wont sell out their minds (and continue playing it after release).

Can't afford any more points and don't have the patience for those ridiculous statues.
I'm stuck at a similar point. I'd recommend the Black Moa Chick, getting a Tormented Weapon and one more "easy" (read, non-Tormented) weapon for your Valor section.

And why have you not put MOX into your hall yet? He doesn't even require anything special done to him.

Quick question from someone who's recently begun playing GW. How do you get hero statues in the Hall of Monuments? I'm assuming for everything else (weapons, armor, mini-pets) you just have to own them.

To put most heroes into the Hall of Monuments, you need to have upgraded their armor by acquiring a specific item - for heroes fro Eye of the North, they require either a Cloth of the Brotherhood or a Deldrimor Armor Remnant. If you need cloths, I can farm them for you; in-game name is as in sig.

As stated, MOX is an exception; as I recall, all you need to do is take him with you into the Hall and activate the appropriate area to place his statue.

Is it just one piece of armor? Or do you need to replace all their gear? Also, I'm currently not in Eye of the North yet; me and a friend are finishing up Nightfall and he's (unfortunately) slowing me down, with less time to play. I'll certainly keep the offer in mind, though, for when we manage to finally move on to Eye of the North.

One special trophy item is used to completely replace their pre-existing armor graphic. I do not recall off the top of my head what all items are used in Nightfall, but the heroes from that content pack have armor upgrades available to them, as well. Check http://wiki.guildwars.com/wiki/Main_Page for full lists and locations.

I'll take a look, thanks for the info. I was worried I'd have to replace -all- their armor or something. Doesn't seem quite as bad anymore.

The easiest ones to get are in Nightfall. If you check here, Koss, Dunkoro, Melonni, Acolyte Jin, and Acolyte Sousuke needs "Stolen Sunspear Armor", these are easily obtained by doing the mission "Dajkah Inlet". Every time you kill a guild lord in the mission(You can easily kill 4 of them each time), it has a chance to drop the "Stolen Sunspear Armor".
