I hope you haven't forgotten my role in this little story. I'm the leading man. You know what they say about the leading man? He never dies.
If you give in to your impulses in this world, the price is that it changes your personality in the real world. The player and character are one and the same.

Yeah, I agree the videos are meant for people that are not very familiar with GW2. While they do make mistakes (like saying Withering Plague, I think, was Lich Form) they do a good job of showing how much fun the game is. At this point if you wanted to see detailed information on skills and features, the resources are out there. If Yogscast can get me excited for GW2, I'm sure it can get those new to it ecxited as well.

Its been said over and over again in the Yogscast that dodging is required even while levelling and questing, just standing infront of a flame-spewing lizard ain't gonna be healthy...

Come on guys, they're having fun playing the game, and showing others how much fun it can be to play, which in the end is what sets it apart from the boring, grindy old school MMOs. Just because they're not that good at the game, and they get things wrong now and then, doesn't mean their videos will put people off playing the game. Hell, that's what all their videos are like and they were responsible for a huge surge in interest in Minecraft.
I for one am enjoying their videos, because, while I'm not learning anything knew, I am seeing just how much fun people can have with it, and it makes me happy to think that Anet's hard work has paid off and that the game is getting the positive attention it deserves.
The armor and quip u have doesn't really matter that much, the game promotes a certain minimum amount of skill from the users. Even if u have the highest armor ingame ur stats will still be scaled-down to match the zone ur in...
I love the dodge mechanic, especially if you will "need" to use it while leveling as well. From a RP perspective, i really never understood how anyone would want to be a tank, must be the most painfull job ever.
And with the need to dodge, the combat and the entire game will become more active.
A few months before i quit wow all i was doing while lvling(full heirloom hunter) was to auto attack and then check internet, run to next mob, auto attack + internet.
It was slower than one-shotting mobs with aimed but it really removed the fun part of lvling which i've always been a fan of.
And leveling in GW2 looks amazing, and it seems to have a good replayability which is just lovely.
The replayability with the same character is almost infinite... you have factions and reputation, you have everchanging dynamic zone events, multiple dungeon modes, achievements... Its really awesome!!
About the whole beta thing, I was thinking earlier.. I'm not so sure that I want beta access. I want to play the game asap of course, like we all do. But I'm in the TERA beta as well, and I spent the first weekend playing through the first 10 or so levels on a bunch of different professions just to see what I liked the most, and now that the second beta weekend is here I don't really even feel like playing it all that much. I'd hate to spoil myself on GW2 before it even comes out.
Any of you feel that way too? Or is it a quality of the game issue?

Its a personal issue. I been in the EU and NA Tera beta I love it so much. Just can't get enough. Leveling my Priest loli as I type now lol.
I typically love betas in MMOs as it gives me the basis to figure out all the mechanics and formulate a plan of attack for release. My guild was playing SWTOR for almost 2 months before release. When head-start hit, I was nearly 40 in 3 days and we racked up like 12 server firsts within the first month.
Loooovvvveee it.
Ye just like as Larynx said. But in Gw2 u keep finding every zone and every dynamic event to be a challenge. The NPCs in towns seem to give a very immersive experience and there's always stuff to do, most of the time its new stuff altogether. One might have gone through a zone and finished most of the quests by day and by nightfall he might realise things have changed and there are new things to do, which I find really cool. It helps keep the game always cool and enjoyable through diversity![]()
I think I'm mainly just going to check out the different classes, maybe unlock all 5 skills and then just go explore the world.
I won't try to level to 80, i just want to satisfy my cravings for GW2
Enjoy... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyMRoB8Xff8
