You didn't read far enough then. Snaff was probably one of the most likeable characters in that book. And I don't even like Asura for the most part. Snaff was just that cool though imo.

Hehe. The funny thing is that for Zo, this is most certainly how she feels. :P

All I got from it was he was an eccentric golemancer that had a creepy fascination with his apprentice.

Yh, she really has a superiority complex does lil Zojja.

And I'm retracting, kinda, on what I said before. While I do think GoA is better written and the charcterisation is probably better...I still prefer the characters from EoD

I need to step away from the computer more. I've been trying to re-read my way through Song of Ice and Fire so I can read the latest book without feeling completely lost, but I haven't been able to make myself sit down for a good long session of reading in a while. ><
I hope you haven't forgotten my role in this little story. I'm the leading man. You know what they say about the leading man? He never dies.

If you give in to your impulses in this world, the price is that it changes your personality in the real world. The player and character are one and the same.

I didn't like GoA too much. Kinda... terrible. EoD was at least pulpy and brisk.

GoA didn't really engage with me too much tbh. I liked that characters...but the action seemed a bit dry.
Agree that EoD was a more fun read, being brisk and pulpy

EOD stats off kinda eyerolly though. Pretty easy to plow through and get to the part where Snaff makes the sand golem. Just a much more enjoyable read. I can't even remember half of GoA, lol. ;P

Purely opinion here, but for me it was actually just the opposite. I wasn't terribly fond of the main human character in GoA (name escaping me atm..), but I still did enjoy that book a lot more. I just felt like it had more development in it, whereas EoD told a lot of story but was all kind of shallow from a character perspective. I remember at one point thinking "Ok, they're really going somewhere else just to slay another champion again?" But hey, it was GW, and I like this universe, so all good.

I wanted epic, and EoD gave that to me. I wasn't looking for anything in dept tbh, so was more satisfied by it than GoA. But I def agree that in terms of writing GoA is a better book. I just think EoD is more fun...plus u get to know the chars that will be involved in ur personal story

100% agreed! This is awesome, imo, makes the books completely worth reading on its own. Can't wait to see how it plays out (tried not to watch spoilers in press beta :x). Also can't wait to see where Dougal and Ember turn up in game with that claw thing.

Personally I enjoyed EoD more because it felt like it was the official main story, as opposed to GoA which kinda felt it was just a side-story set in the "Guild Wars universe".

But GoA was present time! Wasn't it? I night be misunderstanding the timeline. I got the feeling that somewhere during our personal stories Dougal is gonna crash in with the claw and unite the charr and humans somehow. Wishful thinking maybe?

Yh pretty much this. I had much a higher anticipation for EoD because I'd heard a lot about it in connection with GW2. And about Snaff n Zojja from......well, shucks, u mostly
