I hope you haven't forgotten my role in this little story. I'm the leading man. You know what they say about the leading man? He never dies.
If you give in to your impulses in this world, the price is that it changes your personality in the real world. The player and character are one and the same.
I'm not sure if this is something to be worried about with GW2 or not, but it seems like it's built more for casual play. As in it's a great side game mmo with no subscription costs that could possibly tag along with another mmo. You'd have to go elsewhere to get your raiding pve fix if there is no 10+ pve end game raiding and you enjoy that. (World bosses don't count for me.)
And there is no way to progress your character with the exception of leveling right? Gear is just visual. So when you hit level cap there is really no reason to feel forced to log on to do dailies, keep up with anything, or whatever. That seems like a double edged sword to me. Of course, I don't know and I'm speculating so don't poop a shit. :P

Is it wise to pick sea of sorrows when a hell of lot of people are going to be there, from a standpoint of WvWvW balance i recall one of the last beta's mike b mentioned that when he went into wvw there was a crap ton of people on one server and like a handful on another, now i know there are more people and more servers, but SoS seems to be popular not just with us, but Aussies and others... just a thought a had in the middle of the night, as you do >.< LOL
ETA: Shang i suggest you read up on the "mass info" thread in this sub forum, HEAPS of accurate information in there about this game.
I know the basics, but am not overly clued up on GW2. So, as a little thought that just came to me, is your personal story based around your profession or your race? (Yes, most will probably think that is basic knowledge, sue me ;P)

New page! Anyone else excited to use character creation? Think I'm more looking forward to creating a character than actually playing, heh.

i just find that sad just seems like a cop out on anets part less story they need to write even in our world a cop and a cook have different stories to tell but a warlock and a guardian wont it is just sad.

The personal stories are all different depending on how you create your character, so I don't see the issue. There isn't just a single story. A Charr warrior and a Charr elementalist will have different stories, so will a Charr Warrior who is ferocious and a Charr warrior who is charming, and so on.
What are you talking about? In one of the videos or blogs (can't remember which it was) they were talking about having to write so many different storylines for all the different character creation combinations, and had to work hard to make sure they're all tied together through the elder dragons so that every character does, eventually, go after the elder dragons and help the Edge of Destiny do their thing.
Sure, a cop and a cook have different stories to tell, but they both were affected by 9/11.
