Do you need to make each quality of the backpack in succession to make the Ascended one? Or is there a way to get the Ascended base item and combine it with it's other mats?

How much does it cost to build new backpack? (exotic version)

I am guessing around 70 gold. The most expensive thing is the ascended part. But good news: You can use, 15 Deldrimor Steel Ingot OR 15 Bolt of Damask OR 15 Elonian Leather Square.

So yeah, 15 Elonian Leather Squares is currently the cheapest. It goes for a booming 3g+ a piece now, so it's around 55g for those. Including the rest (35 crystalline dust) I think 70g is about right.

Pretty acceptable, compared to the hours of grinding in Fractals or the expensive Dwayna's backpiece.
