I don't know if I'm being really dumb, but Affliction is surely only higher DPS than Destro on fights without BoH?

On fights where Soul Swaping and keeping 3xSE on both targets are easy, Affli will be ALOT better than BoH.

Demonology / Affliction

Demo before our Ele shaman take some gear, and I like Demo, it can do very nice damage, but Affli will be really strong after 4.1, now can do Demo damage like Destro in single target fight (and when in range, multidot target too). But Affli is a lot above both specs now.

Always have been and always will be Demo for main and Afflic for my off-spec.

Talk to a hunter, there is a pet (I don't know exactly which) that brings the buff. The raiding hunter on my guild uses that pet whenever I go affliction for some fights.
The hunter pet for all I know could be a spell bonus to raid or a debuff on boss, I just know it makes up for me not being demo on those fights.

To answer the threat, I am going affliction and dropping demo for destro.

there is no pet that provides 10% spellpower, just one for 8% increased spell damage, and im going affliction, both my specs are set up, gonna play around with drain life filler and shadowbolt filler

The only time BoH will out dps soulswapping is when it can be really stretched into "clever use of gameplay mechanics" territory (think Magmaw or conclave of wind).
