No, a lot of the responses don't make sense in context, though it is pretty fun to toy with.

It's AI. Learns from what people put as replies. It's good for people who are easily amused. I know that I wasted an hour on it one day. In retrospect, that's an hour of my life that I'll never get back.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but would this really constitute a true AI? I'm more inclined towards clever scripting at best..
Far as I'm aware, true AI would have to pass the Turing test, which "cleverbot" admittedly does not.

It's enjoyable for 5 minutes. Then it goes off on random tangents and I just get more annoyed than interested.
I once had a character named "Clamslam" but Blizzard deemed it inappropriate.Retired from WoW: February 19, 2011. It was fun Blizz.

It isn't "AI" per se, it doesn't "learn" in the sense that we do. It is likely a huge database that can recognize what people have put into it and then determines the appropriate response. That's why some of the responses make no sense, because we screw with it so much.
