    Sick of night elf digsites?

Anyone else feel this way ? The surplus of them is absolutely ridiculous and I'm finding myself struggling to want to do arch at all because around 50-70% of my digsites are nelf with the remainder being tol'vir, fossil and troll....it is as if the update to arch this patch had zero effect on anything.

Also if you look on the auction house for the various keystones they're around 100-200g a pop when night elves sit around 10g.

Here's an idea. rather then having you jaunt around the world for night elf dig sites, make it so every zone ALWAYS has a dig site up and maybe reduce the amount of fragments for this while maintaining the random world dig sites and set their values to always yield 6 fragments. People can focus on the races they want IE: uldum for tol'vir and ungoro for fossil. It would also make leveling arch while on an alt possible.

In it's current state how do you expect a new player to level arch ? Yes, they can train it at 20 but let's be honest here, how is someone supposed to feasible level it if they have to run around the world on a level 20 mount. It's a pain with my 310% flying mount and the guild perks.

Archaeology in real life is about patience, why would it be any different in WoW? I am sure real life archaeologists would want to find ancient artefacts which they are looking for wherever they go, but it just doesn't work that way.

However, this is a game. People don't like getting digsites that literally have nothing but a few measly pennies to offer, it just feels like a great waste of time, especially when we were promised 'greatly lowered drop chance' on those kind of now-redundant digsites.

Quite. Nice to see a firm grip on reality which your preceding poster doesn't seem to have. Archeology takes ages because.. it does in real life. I've read it all now.. Unbelievable.

well im not sick of the digsites, im sick of the stuff i find... ~100 times this damn 1g-worth piece of silktrash
not to mention all these useless rares with lousy effects, which just eat your long-collected fragments; not even worth 1G
archeology is very frustrating, but as damage-dealer an excellent option while waiting for LFD-tool

Im annoyed that they made 200 the limit on fragments, i had everything finished for Night Elves by 100~ish but have had to make another 70 or so just because "You cant have anymore of that item" or whatever the error message is. Dont even get me started on the surplus of Highborne Scrolls, they only go for like 10g on our AH and i have about 80 of them now just rotting in my bags.

    Total artifacts
    Dwarf: 35
    Draenei: 1
    Fossil: 76
    Night Elf: 171
    Nerubian: 1
    Orc: 1
    Tol'vir: 99
    Troll: 61
    Vrykul: 1

I have everything for Night Elves, Fossil and Troll but god damn if i can get any rares for Tol'vir other than the ring and scarab pendant.

    /run print("Total artifacts"); for x=1,9 do local c=GetNumArtifactsByRace(x); local a =0; for y=1,c do local t = select(9, GetArtifactInfoByRace(x, y)); a=a+t;end local rn = GetArchaeologyRaceInfo(x); if( c > 1 ) then print(rn .. ": " .. a); end end
ive heard stories of people who have had to do 400+ solves for the mount, copy paste the above into wow and make my count seem less bad please.

    /end rant.
Back on topic, i think the problem with essentially 'specialising' in a certain race makes it too easy too farm, espeically as a high level. That in itself is the main problem with Archaeology, its basically targeted at high/max level players.

In real life you don't have to be lucky to get a "digsite spawn" in Egypt for example

Also when comparing a fantasy game to RL ..

OT: I wanted something like this to, or for example allow us to work to a race, this would make is alot less painful for ppl who want the nerubian rares for example since they get spammed by nelf, troll and vrykul, its a it better after 4.1 though

Oh and ethos either keep solving the nelf with scrolles/fragments u have for the "money" or else sit it out and w8 for them to add new nelf stuff i guess, it shouldn't be this bad post 4.1 now that u get less digsites from races of which you completed all rares

the point of archeology on real life is invalid...

if I were an archeologist and I had no interest on a certain civilization... I wouldn't be forced to research it in order to do the research I wanna do... if I were interested on egypt, why would I dig on aztec digsites??? it's just stupid...

we should be able to choose which digsites we're interested in...
I want to have daughters... but if I end up having sons I'll raise them like this X3

I think you would actually have to go where your employer (some kind of university/research facility) tells you to go. Obviously, not if you're the most awesome archeologist in the world (yes, I watch Bones ^^) but a regular "digger" probably digs where they tell them to dig.

WoW archeologists are self employed lol

it's not like we have a boss telling us where to go... it's more like our toon is deciding where to go independently of our will... which makes our will not willing to continue doing archeology..

    which is kinda sad...

Actually i'm kinda getting sick of NE's too atm.
Less chance to get it if you completed all rares? MY ***

Have completed all of NE a long time a go. Now only going for Dwarf staff / Troll sword and some leftover Tol'virs.
Last 20 digsites i got were NE. Seriously??

*edit* .. got 1 fossil in between

Yep, the real life archaelogists are also farming a lot to get their Zin'Rokh, so you have to do that too.

    lol /highfive

And it's funny you should ask. Why, yes. Yes, I am sick of them, but I'm more sick of Blizzard going five months without even attempting to address any of the issues people have with archaeology. Blows mah mind wide open.

just a quick question.,.. have you guys actually leveled archeology with a new twink?
well guess what, you only get digsites in the regions you can actually get to... how stupid would it be otherwise, really...
so please stop with the whole "it's only for maxlvl, Q-Q for newer players"

Is it possible there is a mistake? For me it says Fossile 12, tolvir 4, troll 5 (nothing for other races), which i am pretty sure is wrong.

Open your 'Completed projects' tab, so it can cache it all, then try the macro.

i heard blizz abhors people seeing / exploring the new content, yeah zone quests in a lot of the zones are almost completely new. /saracsm

Blizzard does NOT want people to level with arch, as well as what the previous posters have said, that part is also invalid.

and silver scroll case says hi, i don't mind nelf dig sites... and my count on TV is 4 canoptic jars, but i've gotten the scarab pendant ring and mount.(leveled arch on my alch as well, id much rather have a lot of canoptic jars.

but yeah id rather have the staff or canoptic jars than the mount
Still I cry, tears like pouring rain, Innocent is my lurid pain.
